For anyone unsure about which pins to short: The U27 pins are laid out like the following: xo x oo You need to short the x pins. If you have a tripod, then it might help to mount your phone and zoom the camera all the way in, to see better. Thanks for the video!
If you get schematics and a boardview look for CLK and DATA and find two points on the board you can short. I don’t have any I can test out in my inventory.
hi there, came across a w520 but the seller (found it in recycling i guess) says there is some kind of lock and cannot boot from the primary disk (there is no disk anyway) and the machine only boots from usb. Is this a supervisor password case? What do you think?
It probably has no or a locked hard drive. Try and do a Windows install with an USB and if that doesn’t work look in the BIOS for any locks. If you get schematics and a boardview look for CLK and DATA and find two points on the board you can short. I don’t have any I can test out in my inventory.
I never ended up running across one with a supervisor password. I could make a video using one I have but in the meantime look for CLK and DATA if you can find a boardview and schematics and short the two.
