Hi, why are/were the rear wheel openings shaped different than other 420s? Very interesting. Maybe an early iteration of the 420 model?
That was a good weld, the new metal fits in seamlessly. If you plan on rebuilding the engine, that would be cool to do a time lapse of your progress.

Keep up the good work... Nice cars the 420 and better drivers than the mk2... I had one... Triple carbs will definately enhance the performance further
Hi How do you remove the tanks was it complicated ? Great work done on the car nice !!
Thanks! There are two clamps on each side, after removing those and all the hoses the tanks came right out if i remember correctly.
Nice progress. What thickness metal sheet are you using? (I have a similar car that is in need of the same attention)
Thanks! I started off with 1mm but switched to 0.8mm as it is easier to bend.
