I'm a master barber. Been doing it since I was 15 years old and licensed at 17. Became a master at 19. It sucks. I hate my job every day and am desperate to find a way out. I just feel so guilty for waiting the first half of my life on something I despise.
I agree with you on the craft/ profession..these references of a "hustle " are a indicator that entrances into the craft need to be more stringent...anyone who can get financial aid is all the sudden a BARBER student...Let's elevate the trade , ..
I agree. If you have gone to school and come out with a diploma or license or certificate for the career you work in it is not a hustle. Would you tell your doctor or lawyer that you like their little hustle they got going on? With your lab coat and suit and your little office. No.
People giving us guilt trips for choosing to go out and live a little too! What do you mean you’re taking a vacation? What do you mean you’ll be off 4 Saturdays a year???? What do you mean , your sick or something came up? What do you mean you can’t get me in? People forget we’re entitled to live our lives too. We put in crazy hours happily. Don’t give us shit because we prioritize some family time, and special events once in a while! We are professionals like other people , and our personal time is just as necessary as theirs. We get pumped for people when we hear they took a personal day or vacation. I wish people would cut us some slack, and realize we’re human too deserving of family / friend time away from work! To the clients / friends that do understand this concept! If it weren’t for those amazing ones, I’d have left this field a long time ago!
I hate that everytime your hair looks different when you just want the exact same cut. I just now had my hair done and he didnt blend it enough even tho I asked and showed him old photos of my hair. M6 face is round enough but my haircut looks very round now😊
Yeah this is no hustle... what I do is absolutely professional from start to finish. I own my own shop and I fail to see how being a licensed professional business owner ever translates to a "hustle..." 🤔
"Them bad ass kids that need an ass-whoopin'" HA!!! Love it! 🤣🤣🤣

Barbering is just as hard if anything harder than your typical 9-5. It requires a lot of detail
So accurate man! Been a barber for 16 years. You’re on point with all of this!

great point!
Tbh i can't even imagine anyone thinking it's a hustle. It's clearly a respected profession. And im not even a barber myself
You would be surprised how many don’t take out industry or career as a legit reputable business or career they tend to look at it as a hobby
I do 4 hr shifts 4 days a week it’s definitely a hubby for me and I’m good at cutting just can’t do full time cause fuck that
much respect no hustle me to bro
I wish parents can teach their kids to appreciate the good hard work of a barber on tipping the barbers
It’s gotta start somewhere. We can also be the ones to introduce those values to them while in the chair

I thought one of them would be that the mirror you work in front of is constantly reminding you that you are ginger.

Exactly
Definitely. That term "hustle" don't apply. Maybe for some, but not for a professional licensed barber!
Do you have a video where you talk about tipping?
I don’t currently have a video on just that but I have a video about cheap clientele
Comment here what u hate about barbering as a barber ⬇️
