I mean the guy's talking about pioneering stuff for the east and bridging the gap between the East and the West, but who is he to do that? Maybe it's because he started at SM as an idol (which is not known for hiring aspiring rapers to fill the raper role - like GD from YG or Rap Mon & Suga from Big Hit, or Zico from Brand New Stardom Entertainment/Seven Seasons - but hires someone who had no interest in becoming a rapper until the label assigned them that role) or for other reasons, he comes off fake. Have you been in Vancouver? I've lived just outside the city for 2 years. It's not even white middle class kids listening to Hip Hop and then "emulating" it and claiming they're so gangsta cause they smoke weed and listen to 2Pac. No, it's Middle Class Punjabi/Afghan,Chinese, East European,etc immigrant kids claiming hip hop culture (including the slang and attire but *not* the reality of black kids living in poverty and crime-ridden Black American neighborhoods hip hop has originated from).
