- Job fairs. Is it worth your time to go to a job fair?
The short answer is YES!
In this video, I share with you several reasons why YOU SHOULD GO to a job fair and I also give you 6 tips on things to prepare. Job fairs can take place anywhere: at libraries, universities or colleges, high schools, local government facilities, etc.
Job fairs happen virtually and in person. If you show up to a job fair unprepared, you are going to make a bad impression and likely won’t get any benefits from attending. However, if you use the tips in this video to prepare for your next job fair, you can likely blow the socks off any employer present!

When I apply online, I feel like I am throwing my resume at a wall. I don't know if my approach is complete trash or just slightly below what they are looking for. You are correct about the networking opportunity.
Yes, when we apply online it’s really hard to know what’s working or not working. If you have someone on the inside, that’s what can really provide some clarity.
i went once to a "job fair" it was a very long line beneath flourescent lighting at basement level to be rejected by HR lady for a technical job
Ugh, that sounds so frustrating.
Excellent 👍
There is an upcoming job fair. The company, however, is not looking to hire for the role I want in person (that's online). Do you think it's worth going to?
Great question. I think you should go anyway, because it's a GREAT opportunity to network. You can tell them that you're really interested in X role, but thought you would stop by to meet their company representatives and learn a little bit more about the company and their plans for hiring. Who knows, maybe they can refer you when the job you're looking for opens up OR they can pair you with a job you didn't realize would be a good fit!
@@LifeWorkBalance Thank you.
It’s hopeless
I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling this way! What could help?
