Thank you for sharing. I am not a tester, but do attempt many different patterns that catch my eye. I have a few that I DNF'd as I could not make heads or tails of the pattern. I have some that I completed, but decided they were not something that I would make again or at least not right away for market. Then, I have the others that I enjoy making and/or cannot make enough. I can't wait to try the marshmellow kitty and your baby roots. They look like fun and are so cute! Looking forward to your next vlog. 😊

Thanks for watching!! Yeah I definitely am not a fan of not being able to finish a pattern or when I do finish it and it doesn't look right. That's why I hope these reviews are helpful to others!!

So in the pufferfish pattern, in round 3, it says (sc, picot, sc) isn't that actually an extra sc in the same stitch? To me round 3 actually makes 24 stitches if we count like this: 1 sc, 1 sc + picot + 1sc, 1sc, 2 sc (inc) = 6 sc total and 6sc x 4 = 24 sc

You do everything in the parentheses 4 times. Stitches inside the parentheses equals 6.

Thanks for the help. My biggest issue with the pattern is it doesn't explain how to work with the picot stitch. It should really tell you explicitly that you don't work into the picot so that this kind of confusion doesn't happen (:
Thanks for your explanation, I hope this helps with anyone else who might try the pattern!

For the puffer fish pattern, I would put the picot stitches in the FLO and then in the next row, just use the back loops. That's what patterns usually say to do when there are picot stitches

Thanks. I will probably not try to make it again since the pattern caused me so much difficulty, but I appreciate your help!

Thank you for trying the poki pufferfish pattern I’m glad it’s not just me that had trouble with it I tried 3 times and gave up cause I do not understand how it works lol I know how to do the picot stitches but as you mentioned it doesn’t really say how to work into them or work around them it’s really confusing

Thanks for the suggestion though! I'm glad that you were able to figure it out after your fourth attempt!

    On the puffer fish
    Row 3.
    (Sc,(sc,picot,sc), sc, inc)
    X’s4 =24
    (Sc=1,(sc,picot,sc=2), sc=1, inc=2)x4=24
    6x’s 4=24
The picot is not counted as a stitch.
    Hope this helps.

The way you wrote that is a little confusing to me. I probably won't try to make it again though, I appreciate you trying to explain it to me!

Thank you so very much, once again, for sharing this with us, Cassie! Appreciate your hard work on all aspects!! This really highlights why testers and editors (like myself) are important! Everything from going from sew to no-sew to math to formatting could have been fixed. Sigh. Ah well. Thank you again!! ☺️🫶🏻🧶

For the puffer fish pattern, I believe that you are reading row 3 incorrectly. I can see the 24 stitches. I am reading it as: one sc in the 1st stitch, sc, picot, sc in the 2nd stitch, one sc in the 3rd stitch, and an inc (2 sc) in the 4th stitch. That would be 6 sc in a set of 4 stitches of the previous round. Times that by 4 then you would have 24. I am not counting the picot at all. Now that you peaked my interest I think I will have to try it.

Thanks for that explanation! I think part of my problem may have been working with the yarn I was using for the first time because it was difficult to locate the stitches too. But I definitely think the pattern really needs to explain how to work around the picot stitches to get the designer's desired result.

row 3 does = 24. You have to do every thing in the parenthesis 4 times. Everything in the parenthesis = 6. 6 x 4 = 24. That’s the way I read it anyway.
