There are a few things to love about this:
#1 - Beautiful visuals and overlays
#2 - Stepping through the capture and describing in detail what's happening
#3 - Combining Chris' years of network packet experience with common tools outputs
    Keep this series going!

You saved me from burning my CEH book. I had two sources that conflicted on how XMAS scanned with Windows! Long story short, one was wrong. XMAS scans work great on Windows behind an IDS!

Good content Chris, I was actually labbing this with my Palo and Fortigate. Thankfully with the correct policies (Zone Protection Profile for PA and IPV4 DOS policy for FGT). The FW's did note NMAP detections.

I have a question: XMAS scans and Null scans return the same response. When should we be using Null instead of Xmas and viceversa? Or there is not difference?

    Hi Chris 🙂
I just wanted to thank you for the great content you provide for us and happy to inform that I have passed my WCNA in first attempt on 5th feb. Your tutorials were so helpful and I keep going back to these videos to clear my understanding. So, thanks again 😍
Just curious to know if you have any tutorials for ZEEK SCRIPTING?

Hey Caleb - Yep, scripts are on the way. Gotta start with the basics though. Curious, which scripts would you say you use the most?
