You can really see bands like The Beatles and artists like Bowie’s influence on the Pumpkins. These artists never repeat themselves and are always willing to experiment, even at the risk of failing. The new Pumpkins album is fantastic, and they’re working on a sequel to the Mellon Collie and MACHINA albums now. A holy trinity of rock albums. We need it now, SP! We need the soundtrack to the end of the world in real time!
He's right, in England we used to call him David Bowie, but David himself (if he had to) would introduce himself as David Bowie. He really didn't care whether people said it as Bowie or Bowie though. More and more people over time, even in England, have switched to calling him Bowie now. There are interviews here on TH-cam where people have asked him and he explained how he says it but doesn't care.

Only Londoners say Bowie as in Cowie, and it's wrong! All real Bowie fans know this. Stern is right in his pronouncement.
