for the axial load of 40 kips. select any circular section whuch at least stable for local or global buckling. the effective length is 15 ft and fy=40 ksi (how to solve it sir)
thanks u so much. one question if you don't mind me asking. regarding a fully plastic section, can't we assume moment redistribution as a plastic hing were theoratically formed? i mean it is so conservative assumig system failure since only a certain section along the member would fail.
