Jackie Bisset was a stunning looking woman with all class and her performance in this movie is awesome considering she was sharing the screen with people like Bergman, Bacall, Gielgud, Roberts and Finney
Director Lumet was a child actor in NY Yiddish Theatre, it shows in his direction here. The final scene? When he allows his all star cast a curtain call? And Bisset kisses Bacall? Playing mother & daughter? SO beautiful! This scene? Dr. predicts opium crisis...
Mrs Andrenyi, rather Countess Andrenyi, as she said her maiden name was Groonvuld - though her manner could have indicated at her knowing that it could be a poison.....
They are presently both alive. About 5 years ago I was unbelievably fortunate to get them both to sign an 8x10 of them dressed as their characters in the scene when they first board the train. It's one of my most favorite autographs.
I disagree, the asymmetry makes for quite an artistic statement on what might otherwise be a beautiful but rather traditional dress. But that's the thing about fashion, it's very subjective.

Marvelous
I believe Jacqueline Bisset is the most beautiful women in the world in 1974, and not one of.
Jennifer O'Neil, Katherine Ross -
(sigh) -
Life was good.
Classic beauty!
She aged really well too!
What a classic scene and these two must be the last two alive now?
Vanessa Redgrave is also still alive.

Jacqueline....
She seem to be liked Daisy Ridley... not you?
I’m sorry, but the one-armed dress…..doesn’t work. It looks unfinished. Maybe that was the whole idea.

Fine film, but their accents are.. well, woeful.
