I didn’t like this concept in the show. Like why does having glasses always mean you’re ugly. No other part of her was “messed up”. She had perfect skin, healthy brown hair, and was around the same shape as her sister. Like why did having glasses mean she was ugly compared to her sister idk! 😭
It’s so common in bugs the hell out of me. It was in every “makeover” movie in the 90’s and early 2000’s and still goes on today. I’ve had glasses since the 3rd grade and always saw the “geeks, nerds, un pretty, outcasts” with glasses in movies and TV. My abusive ex always pushed me to have Lasix and to wear contacts even though they bother my eyes because “you’d look so much prettier without glasses.”. I’m so glad I married a man that sees my beauty for what it is. Glasses or no glasses he tells me how beautiful I am everyday. And my Ma always taught me what I was worth.
