UPDATE: So to my knowledge I just assumed her core passive change was a trial EXCLUSIVE thing due to being team limited at this point in the game. I haven’t looked at any leaks regarding this character so if this in indeed her new core passive I’m going to 100% rant on Core passives in a future video. Sorry for any confusion! Also Sorry If I am over promoting! But I am doing a HUGE GIVEAWAY for a Ton Of Zenless Zone Zero Merch on this video th-cam.com/video/oTrInbU8k4s/w-d-xo.html.
@@leedevee sometimes they make small changes to make a character more accessible. Which is what I assumed to be the case here. Since for 1.0 her teams would be very restricted at launch. Now keep in mind I haven’t 100% confirmed this as I haven’t had the ability to check leaks but from how some people are saying it with affirmation I will go with the assumption this is indeed the case. Which makes this system completely a waste and dumb.
@@CyanTril-Zenless They would have to disclose that her passive is different for trial purposes only - hiding shit in small text like that would get Hoyo into serious trouble w/ regulations with the Chinese gov't. There's no way they would do that so just FYI moving forward, you can trust what's shown in the game to be official unless otherwise clearly stated.
@@FlyingPancake0390 it’s a story related character not an actual trial tho we had situations where story characters are a tad bit different than their actual character release. A trial would be like when they have the gems we acquire for testing them out.

Honestly the limited W engine should be the least of a f2p's worries since the amount of pulls you get can be the difference between getting a character or not. It's always going to be pull character first, pull weapon or dupes on rerun
Yeah I agree but I have to mention it regardless since it's an important issue some people may run into. I am trying to be more understanding of situations that do not affect me in videos since I've realized I make too many assumptions on things people may or may not know
Totally right. So a 5 star weapon might mean you can clear the next stage of Shiyu defence that you couldnt before... Getting you like what 2-3 pulls worth of polychromes? Imagine you lose the 75/25 on the weapon banner and how many pulls that is.... Yeah just not worth it imo
I would say thats tue for now but if its anything like Star rail, after abotu a year I would start pulling W-engines as you should have a fleshed out account and can skip way more people.
You don't really need Nicole to activate Zhu Yuan's passive anymore, since from her Trial Version we can see that her passive triggers with any support (or someone from her faction), instead of the requirement being same attribute/faction. That means Soukaku, Lucy and Rina are options to trigger passive now. Teams like ZY/Koleda/Lucy and ZY/Anby/Rina are pretty good now. ZY/Lycaon/Soukaku is also fantastic, but that would break the best team on release so for meta it isn't really an option. However, even if you don't HAVE to run Zhu Yuan with Nicole, you still very likely *want* to run Zhu Yuan with Nicole, since Nicole gives a lot to Zhu Yuan (better corruption triggers, more ether damage, defense shred), especially at M6 (M6 Nicole increases crit rate against the enemy). On top of that, running ZY with Nicole gives Resonaboo more value. So even if you don't like Nicole, ZY is still a great option if you have other Support options, Nicole is just her best option, especiall when invested.
@@LokiLiesGod I thought that was more so because she is team limited at this point in the game rather than being her actual new passive. I haven’t looked into kit leaks due to being restricted so sorry about that.
@@JeannieLove You can check Zhu Yuan's passive on her trial version, her unlock requirement was changed to support fighting style or faction, from the attribute/faction of her Beta version. Every character's trial version, both during story missions and in the VR, have the exact same kit description as the gacha versions. If the changes were made because otherwise she would be "team limited at this point", Nekomata would certainly have been changed as well for her Trial Version in Chapter 1, since she is basically locked to Cunning Hares, same as Zhu Yuan (her Piper team is cope at best). Unless Hoyo is looking to get in trouble both within China and outside of China, Zhu Yuan's passive unlock requirement is Support or Faction.
@tidus9942 Yeah but resonaboo is good even if there's only 1 ether character. The only thing that will change is more damage and faster ether anomaly build up.
Her passive requirement being that open ended is really the biggest thing - first time we’ve seen that in a unit in ZZZ so that opens the door to more flexibility with future releases. Like what if a future anomaly unit only needs another anomaly unit or an attack unit works with only units of different elements etc
That was bound to happen eventually, otherwise team building would be too stiff and you'd have fewer reasons to pull for other characters. Mono attribute teams would eventually find snags in quests with multiple different kind of enemies or elemental shields. I am surprised that they are doing it so soon, though. I'd have bet on this kind of character to start being released by the end of the 1.x patch cycle, not on 1.0 lol.
Really liking the Zhu Yuan Char but knowing now that I dont have to focus as much when she comes out is a relieve. Maybe its just me who got so lucky with Ellen this banner but missing a lot of the "secondaries".

As a Lost Ark Gunslinger lover from back in the day Zhu Yuan is the closest thing to the Shotgun play style. I’m definitely picking her up. Especially since I got The Brimstone from the Standard Banner so I don’t exactly need her weapon. Finally, it’s great to get my DPS 5-Stars set up first. I can manage with Anby and Nicole. It's new thing yeah she can fit with any support that is cooler & flexible that way //// but SHE NEED A STUNNER TO POP OFF full damage and that flexible support need another teamate to activate his extra core skill (faction or element) require both beeing a stunner and faction/element compatible. From the Team-build it seems she's different than the rest of the agents you play. She boosts the same Type of Class (Support, Attack, Stun, etc.) and not the Same type of Anomaly (element)
Her passive just says Support or Faction. She wants Nicole for the Def shred & the Resonaboo and her 3rd back up can either be another Support, another Cunning Hare or another NEPS agent
Well i just pulled ellen cause I have sukaku at like e6. Plus she can carry early game. And not to mention 1.0-1.1 most of the characters will get powercreeped. So better we should pick up a dps character as soon as possible and later on get the meta characters. I might skip 1.1 completely.
You might not realize this but Nicoles only benefit to Zhu is the defense shred on Niki's skill. Zhu's core makes no mention of requiring an Ether companion just a support one. So any Support works(Lucy Soukaku, etc) Nicole just happens to be the best support because of Defense Shred
