KFC (the name was originally an initialism for Kentucky Fried Chicken) is a fast food restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, United States (US). It is the world's second largest restaurant chain overall (as measured by sales) after McDonald's, with over 18,000 outlets in 120 countries and territories as of December 2012. The company is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, a restaurant company that also owns the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant chains.
KFC was founded by Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression. Sanders identified the potential of the restaurant franchising concept, and the first "Kentucky Fried Chicken" franchise opened in Utah in 1952. KFC popularized chicken in the fast food industry, diversifying the market by challenging the established dominance of the hamburger. By branding himself as "Colonel Sanders," Harland became a prominent figure of American cultural history, and his image remains widely used in KFC advertising. However, the company's rapid expansion saw it overwhelm the ageing Sanders, and in 1964 he sold the company to a group of investors led by John Y. Brown, Jr. and Jack C. Massey.
KFC was one of the first fast food chains to expand internationally, opening outlets in England, Mexico and Jamaica by the mid-1960s. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, KFC experienced mixed fortunes domestically, as it went through a series of changes in corporate ownership with little or no experience in the restaurant business. In the early 1970s, KFC was sold to the spirits distributor Heublein, who were taken over by the R.J. Reynolds food and tobacco conglomerate, who sold the chain to PepsiCo. The chain continued to expand overseas however, and in 1987 KFC became the first Western restaurant chain to open in China. The chain has since expanded rapidly in China, which is now the company's most profitable market. PepsiCo spun off its restaurants division as Tricon Global Restaurants, which later changed its name to Yum! Brands.
KFC's original product is pressure fried chicken pieces, seasoned with Sanders' recipe of 11 herbs and spices.

in england our chips are way smaller to yours and we get so much more chips and your drinks cost $3 ours is £1 or £3 for a large but we get no gravy and mash potato I love Australia so much
You should ask for a big mac from mcdonalds, and swap out one of the pattys for a chicken fillet. Ive heard you can actually do that and its like a secret menu item. Please try it, id love to know what its like. Great vids

Its a huge meal for one, you'll be doing well if you can get through it! The free water thing is new to me, I'll be testing the other outlets to see what happens with them

Best Fries or Chips are the local shops, here in Louisiana they ALWAYS cook them fresh in front of you.

Great review! The one box comes with a drink though as part of the box so I think they've given you the water instead of the Pepsi. So that's why it was in the bottle and not just a cup.

ghallora you can still get complementary water and ice though with any order.
But you can still get complementary water and ice with any order, I have saved over $67 this year doing this at burger king, mc donalds, kfc.
Thanks for finally asking for the complementary water Geoff, there was two issues though :
A) You are ment to ask for complementary water and ice and B) in the comments I see people think this food came with a drink anyway, therefore hopefully you will try this again next time you goto burger king when you are reviewing a burger only (they do the best complementary water and ice in the world).

I like the TH-cam T-shirt in black I have a white one. I won it when I went to a YT meeting in Sydney once, I got wayyyyy too excited about it LOL more so than anyone else in the room (I'm such a goof). I'm sure if we had 100,000 subscriber YT Australia would just give you a T-shirt. I don't have much fast food but I have tried KFC chips and they are good. I haven't had KFC potato and gravy for years I now have a craving for it. Actually this video made me very hungry.

Kfc chips ask for fresh ones so they are hot, with extra salt and then dipped in kfc gravy. Definitely best fast food chips out there. But if they are cold and not salty I just chuck them in the bin they taste like starch and cardboard.

That's a lot of food. At least your KFC chips are what they should be in the UK they have gone thin stringy things, horrible stuff. Never tried to get free water from a fast for outlet probably get abuse for trying

why do you keep saying "complimentary water" if you bloody traded it for the can? you're supposed to get a can of drink (EDIT: with 'the one box') i.e. pepsi, sprite - but you chose the bottled water
obviously if you just bought say a zinger burger on its own, you wont be able to get the bottled water - so youre not saving anything... you still paid $12.95, not sure what you mean by 'saving' m8
You're right, I went into it without realising the drink came with the deal and I didn't pick up on any explanation through their dodgy speaker system. The complimentary thing is a running joke with one of my subs - its not over yet!
