An interesting theory: Conquer Korea, then put your capital in Korea for big military bonuses. Of course, you would need to do this when you are the largest player, but doing so would solidify you as the military powerhouse and "impossible" to team up on.
_Edit: When he said "Great projects" he meant super buildings, not actual great projects._ Great projects use a separate modifier from normal buildings. You should keep the construction time reduction though to keep buildings usable in the thunderdome.
i now have all current dlc's of eu4 via a sale + a bundle, guess i now will be less limited in options and will never have a reason to pay the subscription fee option
Hey, I think I just beat the game. I just got level 6 & 7 forts in 1508. I'm pretty sure no one can siege me down now. This is what I did. I don't know if you can do this with a normal nation, cos I used a custom nation. I was trying to see how I could get amazing forts so no one could ever siege my land down. So, I did a custom nation, picked some weird monarchy type that gives extra fort defence. I forget which. Fort defence national ideas and attrition to enemies and Defensive ideas as my first idea etc. But that's not what got me the forts. Firstly, I put my nation in the HRE near Savoy. Allied them, made sure they did well, giving them money, helping in wars so they get some of their missions done. (if you are not getting lucky you can console command it). Basically, eventually Savoy gets the third mission in a row to upgrade its forts to level 4s. Then, I warred Savoy and took their land. I then changed my culture to Piedmontese, and continued playing. Eventually I formed Sardinia-Piedmont. To my surprise I got the Savoy missions again. Weirdly it didnt count my level 4 Bastions as Castles so I had to build 4 more castles. I was assuming it would only upgrade the castles to Bastions, but the mission actually upgraded the Bastions also to Star Forts. So now, pretty much no one can beat me right? I dunno if you can still do this with other nations. Maybe the reason I got the full mission tree was cos I had the basic one myself? Im not sure. You could try this as another nation and see if it works also with non custom nations.
The league war started while I was at war with Tunis and another North African nation (I wasn't getting any good opportunities for a war with Naples or Spain. And France decided to ally Naples. It's also an odd game where it's a decently strong reformation but only for the hre. Sweden went protestant. Brandenburg went protestant. Prussia was Catholic (the Teutonic order survived long enough to form it). Switzerland was the first to be protestant and flipped to reformed. Bohemia went protestant. Through oddly the uk stayed Catholic and formed while Scotland still exists as 2 one province islands in the British isles. The Netherlands have yet to be formed but ironically the candidates are reformed. I am comfortable saying that the colonial situation is definitely not historically accurate (if you want to ask I don't mind telling, it's just not quite how it realistically should be), but like you'd expect France and Spain remained Catholic like Austria while Naples for some reason couldn't make up it's mind between Catholic or protestant), I ended up subjugating the 2 nations and fed them a good chunk of North Africa (they had reconquest on a few nations and a few claims on places. plus I cleaned up borders a bit that I knew would be harder to do outside of that specific war, though initially I figured that this would be worth it because I would get to save on admin points) and I'm currently the greatest power in the world (the ottomans would be if they had the newest institution, though they have a very significantly stronger military because of quantity and quality) and I don't recall if there golden age ended or if it's still ongoing (at least I know it's definitely over in the age of absolutism)
i was wondering who would win if you made a map where every single nation tag on the game was there already? and either you only give each tag one province and the rest are empty so everyone can colonise.. or you fill every province up and hopefully give every nation the exact same development... so in an area where you cant have many tags you give them more provinces but with less development opm in hre 30 dev... 3 province tag 10 dev in each one etc
Could be interesting but a lot of tags double occupy the same land, so GBR and ENG for example, or TUR and RUM. However assuming all cores day 1 independent that would certainly be a very different map indeed
@@LemonCake101 but if ur only giving them one province each they wont overlap or 3 provinces or whatever.. i actually spent time makign an alternative history map a year ago where all americas had feudalism already each tribe i gave 3-4 provinces.. and also no islam judaism or christianity.. i split up all the big nations into smaller ones.. released some other tags to add new nations.. made most nations similar sizes.. had mostly norse in europe and zoroastrianism in middle east etc.. problem is, paradox did an update later while i was making it & then it said the save file doesnt work anymore
because I seem to be never getting an opportunity to take Sicily (Spain and the ottomans keep going into wars but never have enough reasons to brake there alliance if i was to declare war). i think I'm going to try as a different nation to form Rome (probably still within Italy). i did however get the Italian ambition achievement (figured that if i couldn't achieve everything i wanted in that run, may as well end the main reason for that run). do you think it would be better to chose savoy or Florence this time?, or would it be better to choice Byzantium instead of forming Italy?
I will be honest considering your reliance on alliances as it where go with a bigger stronger boi like France. If you want to keep tag formables open Castile or England both work excellently well too
@@LemonCake101 the problem is that i don't have the dlc's for some such as castile or England or France. could try a game as Austria (i don't have aeiou) or could try a game as Florence with the same culture shifting as i did as Milan (but with the benefit of fewer missions requiring me to develop land, plus i actually could do all of there missions). i only rely on allies when i don't know if i can get by without any, otherwise an ally is a future subject/conquest (though this is not the case if/when i play with other players)
@@christianwhite8877 France without missions is still more then fine: don't forget having 50% more development is better then a 50% tax buff + 50% manpower + 50% production efficiency buff.
@@LemonCake101 yes but then i am unable to be immune to the conquest of Rome without flipping religion to either protestant or reformed (not to mention losing out on a free diplomat and a few other things). unless i am willing to take Rome way later. castile is better for colonizing than coring land even with it's dlc (it only may help in regards to building a bigger army, and the start isn't exactly the best or most stable), and England without domination or it's dlc isn't that amazing for forming Rome (Anglican isn't all that powerful either. it's more so the option to unite France and England into a unique formable nation that make it a strong choice, however Anglican is good for the free cb if you take religious ideas)
Isn't it way more reasonable to give Sagami to the Hojo instead of to the Imagawa? While they don't yet exist they at least have a future claim to the province unlike the Imagawa. Also taking away the home province of Echigo from the Uesugi and giving it to the Ogasawara is kinda weird. You could just instead give Musashi to Hojo as well but then Hojo ends up getting some crazy dev. Something more reasonable could be to instead divide the Uesugi up into its cadets to show its disunity or maybe just add someone like the Nagao(not a tag though) in Echigo instead. However splitting up the Uesugi would also help facilitate a Kanto brawl which would be pretty fitting for the event.
@@LemonCake101 Sure but wouldn't it be better for balancing with a musashi opm then? Right now it just went from an area with one big guy to an area with 3 medium guys. Also poor Takeda is completely boxed in by them.
what's stopping So from being really obnoxious? vanilla pirate republic is really overpowered and very annoying bc of how strong it is, even an opm pirate republic can be annoying af to deal with
@@LemonCake101 i don't think it needs to win on land, with the changes you made to dev cost, it now makes blockades indirectly stronger due to devastation, and given how many provinces japan has the coast, its very powerful with a pirate republic navy then you have strait crossing stuff, if you play on the west island and you do good diplo with the so player you cant be invaded bc no one can actually cross the strait

Great projects use a separate modifier from normal buildings. You should keep the construction time reduction though to keep buildings usable in the thunderdome.
