I found out that by having a controller pluging in your device sometime if controller is not open it might cause l4d2 to not open. Just plug your controller or remove/disable any device that might related to the controller.
It happened me bro i also did to my windows 10 it fucked my computer also now I am gone to windows 11 now I learned my lesson never ever touch services as it is most important heart and hub of the os just leave as it is don't go to unrestricted area like services ever again don't even go ever go there even just don't bother about it.

i tried to use Verify Integrity Files, and it mention that 1 file had to reacquired. what does that mean?

My problem is when i set shader to high or very high the game crashed after loading but when i set to medium its work normal,idk why this happend.
My joint acting stupid idk wat pre shader or Vulcan mean.
if your set a very high all of your option its automatically crashing.

you did it in msconfig? remember to check "hide microsoft services first" then uncheck all services
