Masterclass: Knitting a Dress for a Bunny. Part 1 - Dress

I'm sharing a step-by-step guide, pattern, and useful tips.

Pattern for the Bunny's Dress:
The dress is knitted from the collar to the hem (top-down) without seams.
🧶Yarn Used:
- For the dress: Adelia Kiss (Leonardo craft store and Wildberries)
- For the collar: white Yarn Art Jeans or Gazzal Jeans
📝Tools:
- Circular needles Knit Pro size 2.25 for the dress
- Hook Tulip 2.20 for the collar
- Needle for attaching the collar
📝Process Description:
- The dress is knitted without edge stitches. Each first and last stitch is knitted according to the pattern (either knit or purl).
- The dress is knitted on two needles first, then joined in the round and distributed onto 4 needles.
- Cast on 39 stitches with a simple cast-on method.
- In the first row, distribute and knit as follows:
📝Pattern:
1st row: 2 knit, increase (increase knitted from one stitch through the front and back loops), increase, 9 knit, increase, increase, 9 knit, increase, increase, 9 knit, increase, increase, 2 knit (47 knit stitches).
2nd row: 1 purl, purl increase (increase knitted from one stitch through the front and back loops), 43 purl, purl increase, 1 purl (49 purl stitches).
3rd row: 4 knit, right increase (RI) - increase from the side loop of the stitch in the previous row on the right; left increase (LI) - increase from the side loop of the stitch in the previous row on the left; 11 knit, RI, LI, 11 knit, RI, LI, 11 knit, RI, LI, 4 knit (57 knit stitches).
4th row: 1 purl, purl increase, 53 purl, purl increase, 1 purl (59 purl stitches).
5th row: 6 knit, RI, LI, 13 knit, RI, LI, 13 knit, RI, LI, 13 knit, RI, LI, 6 knit (67 knit stitches).
6th row: 1 purl, purl increase, 63 purl, purl increase, 1 purl (69 purl stitches).
7th row: 8 knit, RI, LI, 15 knit, RI, LI, 15 knit, RI, LI, 15 knit, RI, LI, 8 knit (77 knit stitches).
8th row: 1 purl, purl increase, 73 purl, purl increase, 1 purl.
9th row: Knit 11 knit, close 19 stitches with knit, knit 19 knit, close 19 knit, knit 11 knit.
Now, you need to join the knitting in the round and distribute the stitches onto 4 circular needles.
10th row: To create a bell-shaped skirt, make increases every second knit stitch from the side loop of the stitch in the previous row. When joining the knitting at the back, cross and switch the stitches under the arms from both needles. Move the start of the row to under the left arm.
11th row and onwards: Knit in stockinette stitch to the desired length.
💬To prevent the dress from curling at the edge, knit several rows alternating between purl and knit stitches. Edge the skirt, sleeves, and back neckline with a hook, alternating between slip stitches and chain stitches.
📝White Collar: I sewed the collar with the wrong side out.
- Right side: Chain 35 stitches for the ties and place a marker in the last 35th stitch. After the marker, chain 19 stitches for the collar. In the second stitch from the hook, make a slip stitch, then work 1 single crochet, a half double crochet, a double crochet, 13 double crochets with two yarn overs, 2 double crochets with one yarn over, remove the marker, and continue with single crochet to the end of the chain. Make a slip stitch in the very last stitch.
- Left side: Knit mirror image of the right side. First, chain 19 stitches for the collar, place a marker, and then chain 35 stitches for the ties. Work 35 tie stitches with single crochet, starting from the second stitch from the hook, then knit the collar according to the pattern in reverse: 2 double crochets, 13 double crochets with two yarn overs, a double crochet, a half double crochet, a single crochet, and a slip stitch.
