IMO he should have kept some scvs in the medievacs. Repair can autocast.
Back in SC1 I almost always give repair group SCV a number to call (usually number 4). Rarely seen in pro games though.
Can oversaturate mineral lines before pulling them. 4~6 works wonders.
@unknownkw it gave me anxiety that most of the army was low health towards the end and no repair. Plus repair is very stressful for the opponent

I said what I said because it is a subtle way of saying "Hey, this viewer is getting bored with the thumbnails". Lowko also states multiple times within videos that he is looking for feedback.

Really i am wondering when terran will start doing ghost drops on infestors you can't control a med when it has units in it so it keeps them from being parsited if 3 ghost blanket your army your not going to have any energy to parsite thors
So not only does Zerg have the easiest time expanding but they also have the most mobile armies. AND to top it off, they can reinforce the fastest. And Terran gets what? Really good defensive capability? Except you can’t defend more than 3 or 4 bases without spreading too thin so Zerg can just contain you while getting as many bases as they want. And the main way terrans beat zergs late game is by surviving a million waves until they’ve mined the whole map. But if you’re not on point for one wave or army mispositioned, it’s game over. It just seems like Zerg has way more advantages and way more opportunities to win. Am I wrong?
Oh and I forgot about queens being op in the early game

why dont terrans put barracks in front of tanks to create a wall off more often? I feel like 150 minerals are worth more than losing a tank right away to ravagers

I don’t get why gumiho made that mistake. Did he think the game was over? Also I don’t get why he just refused to use mules to repair that army. He had the energy, multiple orbitals and he’s like: nah man

This hellbat drop was used a lot in TVT also... to make friendly tanks shoot at the hellbats and damage their own tanks with friendly fire.
Edit: I remember that Bomber used this a lot...some of the best TvT (imo) were between Polt and Bomber. A lot of kills of full medivac and Bomber used to use hellbats this way a lot also.
Is it just me or was Lowko talking a little faster than he normally does in this video? Sounds like he's talking at 1.25 speed to me....ahh, may just be me.
...This is a random thought, so apologize for it being kinda irrelevant to this game in particular. But has there ever been a map where the starting base has gold minerals? I wonder how much that'd change for the early game.

Better for SCVs then. Mules should only be used for mining as they can mine faster.
I second that. Six red Thors are still six Thors, which fire, don't need to be built (so you don't need to wait for that and afford that as well) and you can successfully reuse. I dare say that if these Thors were full health, Gumi would win that match already in the bottom-right corner.
@@joshuakevinserdan9331 This is not obvious. You need to transport the SCV through the whole map and you risk losing it (even on the way to units you want to repair). These disadvantages may counter the lost Mule mining time.

considering that hellbats only cost minerals and at worst you're only losing a medivac (so 100 gas), to potentially trade with several units that cost 50 gas each, I'd say that's a good trade

This is an amazing game! Gumiho truly is one of the most entertaining players to watch! Sure, he made a couple of errors, but he still managed to overcome those! Awesome! I guess you could say that he left his opponent in the...Dark.

I truly hoped for Gumiho to go for mass Banshee around the ~ 20:00 min mark.... such a great finisher unit vs Zerg! ... nice 4 min later he does it 😅
Okay, I get it now why the Hellbats for Han & Horner in Coop has the upgrade that makes the enemies panic when the Hellbats die. I think a Coop dev saw a game where it was used like this back then and immediately thought of adding it to the game.

This was amazing. The thinking behind this game by Gumi, just usig every unit that was always there, to create a new strategy... forcing the opponent to adapt in real time. Taking a game like this from one of the most versatil players like Dark, (poor those rigid players who takes the meta and play it like there is nothing more) just amazing.
He played super greedy though against dark of all players in the early game. Which is just unbelievable risky.
Don’t get me wrong was a good game by him but gotta remember how much that greed in the early game helped

HEY Lowko, next time you cast a game you've already watched... can you PLEASE pretend like you are watching it for the first time, makes watching this replay WAY less fun.

I say this in uthermal videos a lot. If your gonna play a more turtle up mech play style. Why are people not just abusing going for 1-2 ebays. Then rushing building armor+hi sec. This gives your home defense so much strength in the early/mid game allowing you to actually make moves. The second thing i don't quite understand is why people don't make more orbitals inside their main base and spread production closer to new bases. This way all your expansions can be planetaries. instead of one but 1-2 next to the one actually mining. This way its incredibly difficult to actually get in and do real economical damage without losing a ton of units in return. You can even reactor your first barracks instead of using it as a scout tool and build 1-2 casual bunkers and fill them with 6 marines while you either completely abandon them or slowly upgrade them off the 1 ebay in the background. I understand its more investment but people really underestimate the benefits because it seems "noob"
Although as a Zerg player, seeing cute, innocent hydralisks burn to ashes is painful, I have to admire Gumiho's creativity and execution against someone of the pedigree of Dark!

i'm really happy about the ending :D also glad to see that you're switching it up with the thumbnails now.. you used to show the loser of the match with some sort of thumbnail-highlight every video (dunno if it was subconcious or intended decision)
What a sick strategy. I hope this gets played more often! I love, that even after 12 years, people are still inventing new strategies lol, not the good old aoe2 treatment where everyone is making trebuchets and paladins since 1995
the value of air and bunkers can be quite significant... since a bunker.. forces a bile on it, rather than your tank that is 5 range behind it.. lets say.. so bunkers and tanks .. bunkers are cheap.. at 100 minerals.. and you can always unload. There is a bunker setup Iwanted ot try to see if it can bause something... its creating a circle of units.. that spins aorund in the bunekrs fomr unloading, and to teh front so al lthe units can fire, and swap to the lead bunker this way there is zero cool down on the next units.. fire since it hasn't fire, so you should say, for instance see a stream of marauder rockets coming out of one bunker, lol
i do not understand why at 20:00 or like 18-19 minutes into the video. Why he doesn't just drop 3-4 mules to reparir all those thors thankfully i watched another 50 seconds of this before publishing his comment because immediately he runs in and eats occasional hits here and there and then a massive hit. all of this would have been really no big deal had he just landed the mules and his orbitals in the air... its a lot in the moment but consider my high mmr big brain homies
I wanna see ghost snipe only hit ground targets so they don't hard counter not only EVERY zerg late game unit but also the ONLY way zerg can detect them.

I wish mech would get a bit of buff so they can defend far bases a bit easier. Its fun to watch different strategies. Maybe buffing hellion and cyclone to get to father bases. Late game speed buff?

When I play mech lategame, I stack static defenses on my bases.
And I mean STACK.
My record was four planetaries at one base, and a single tank parked behind them, protected by a wall of missile turrets. The zerg on the other side sent several question marks in chat.
Beautiful terran engineering. But how do you stop your life getting ruined by broodlords or banelings?
@@noaccount4 If I see either of these units on the other side of the map from my army, I'm f2a'ing straight into the enemy main.
Brood lords will be swinging at planetaries until the sun explodes, because planetaries can be repaired, brood lords aren't known for high DPS, and three planetaries can instakill broodlings.
Baneling busting a group of planetary fortresses is also a meme. If you aren't hugely behind, and if you have backup command centers ready to fly, then baneling busting does nothing but lose you the gas for planetaries and a couple of SCVs. Zerg, on the other hand, has to drop all the larvae, gas, time and supply.
