Your torch is spewing flame because you’re feeding it liquid when you angle it like that. The fuel normally comes out as a vapor, but if you tilt it or overfill the canister, liquid comes out instead.
Stop sloshing around the torch, that's the reason the flame is going crazy like that. That's thermo contracting insulation....Usually crimping is referring to the stuff that you actually have to crimp mechanically.
Can you PLEASE use an electric heat gun to shrink things? It does the job much cleaner, is a lot better suited to shrink tube temperature wise and doesn't set stuff on fire.
That is a hose clamp! Big Fing violation here in the states! We use an acorn clamp which is rated for direct burial and is constructed of bronze with a stainless steel bolt. We also generally use #6 (16mm²) solid or 7 strand bare, extra ground contact when buried. Good job otherwise and nice attention to finish detail.

Ooooh, that's why. I thought that my torch was broken and needed to be replaced.
im sure that 1940s plug lasted significantly longer than any new plug will
Hahaha
Yeah your right
Red ground is all kinds of heresy.
The Netherlands was Heresy then till 1970. Double heresy as we used green for the line voltage 😎
Super, glad your still going in now an apprentice and it's amazing doing what you love to do
personally i'd prefer a soldered/braised connection to an earth rod rather than just a crimp, but to each their own
99% of houses in the US use a screw on clamp and never have issues.

I use them when I can but there was no power close to where I worked 😄
@@alexandernh2210 They make battery-powered ones now.
you'd probably have an easier time with that ground clamp if you had some ear clamp pliers

Do you do anything to seal the penetration, or is it a non-issue with the placement and angle?
The black thing is some sort of weatherproof shrink wrap cap?
