Swami ji, how do I know God is real when I've never experienced? How can I dedicate my life in pursuit of getting an experience of the "god" when I do not know if this is all true at all? Belief can be no substitute for personal experience and I have none. And neither can I fall into a peaceful acceptance of there being no god. My heart has no answer for my brain's questions; I cannot make peace with both.
Your question was addressed to Swamiji but I am taking this opportunity to answer it, as I have had my share of doubts & delusions when I started my journey. Please don't be ruffled by your resistance to surrender to something that you don't know exists or not, there are people who believe in the existence of God but are still unable to surrender. In my opinion you are way ahead of them. There are different paths that one can choose according to their tendencies. You are doubtful of the existence of God but I am sure that you are certain of your own existence. Why not try finding about yourself? The true nature/source of your existence. Instead of walking the path of devotion (bhakti marg) which requires surrender at the very start, try Gyan Marg or Dhyan Marg. As you keep walking on your path of self discovery with perseverance & determination , maybe you will discover that it was only your mind that kept you in doubt, what you were seeking was seeking you.
