Condotiero & Genoese crossbowmen - Playmobil History

Condottieri were Italian captains in command of mercenary companies during the Middle Ages and of multinational armies during the early modern period. They notably served popes and other European monarchs during the Italian Wars of the Renaissance and the European Wars of Religion.
The Genoese crossbowmen (Italian: Balestrieri genovesi) were a famous military corps of the Middle Ages, which acted both in defense of the Republic of Genoa and as a mercenary force for other Italian or European powers.
Condottieri waren italienische Kapitäne, die im Mittelalter Söldnerkompanien und in der frühen Neuzeit befehligten multinationale Armeen. Sie dienten insbesondere Päpsten und anderen europäischen Monarchen während der italienischen Renaissancekriege und den europäischen Religionskriegen.
Die genuesischen Armbrustschützen (italienisch: Balestrieri genovesi) waren ein berühmtes Militärkorps des Mittelalters, das sowohl zur Verteidigung der Republik Genua als auch als Söldnertruppe für andere italienische oder europäische Mächte fungierte.
