And i bet that most sensible people know that scammers and thieves don't represent whole country.
25 years ago, I encountered Angry Grandpa (I'm 95% sure it was him) in the Prague metro. He claimed to be a plain-clothes inspector of the public transportation, showed me a silly charm trinket in the cup of his hand as if that was somehow legitimizing him, and he claimed that I had bought the wrong ticket and that I needed to pay a fine and buy a different ticket. Little did he know that I wasn't just the passing through backpacker, but I was on my 30th trip to Prague, so I told him in Czech to crawl back to the piča he came from, and that I knew very well which ticket I needed and that I wasn't going to show him my ticket, nor where I keep my money. He got very upset and abusive (I guess I lead him on, but I was right and he wasn't hahaha). When I got off, I informed the DPP office and they said I did the right thing sending him away.
@@demiannvz yes, that is a very sad thought indeed. I have always wondered how it is possible that there are people without a conscience. what I don't understand is, why would people go for these shady exchanges with a random guy on a street? If it's about better exchange rate, why not just pay by cards? It's traveling 101 that you DON'T make unofficial money exchanges with random people on the street :(
It makes sense when you think about probability. 98% of tourists do as you exactly say and ignore these scum of the Earth. The thing is the scammers know this and they aren’t worried about the 98% they are after that 2% that are either dumb enough, gullible enough, or just not informed enough to fall for it. Here in the US our park rangers have a saying that kinda rings true for why scammers actually get people “the overlap between the dumbest human and the smartest bear is far more than you would think” this is said when asked why they can’t make bear proof things. Because if they did the dumbest people couldn’t get into it either. So because of a very small percentage of not so bright people the rest of society is stuck with this chronic issue.
It was a very common practice in Eastern Europe during cold war. When you were changing officially you got a gouvernment rate while you got a market rate from people on the street who desperately needed valuta for stuff they couldn't buy officially. So depending on time and country you got likely twice to ten times as much. Everyday products like bread were heavily subsidized and government rates were based on those.
It also can be hard for some people to say no to those crooks. Usually those scammers don’t let you go so easy after hearing no. Mb people subconsciously feel some threat and it’s easier to agree for exchange like that than be followed by them or beaten up.

We got scammed £250 at the airport from a local taxi. He turned meter off and took our money. We learned to use Uber as get more fair rate. If taking a taxi- ALWAYS negotiate price before getting in.
Díky za to, co pro Česko děláte.
Just found your channel and wow you are truly one of life’s amazing human beings keeping all the tourists safe x
You guys should make stickers in multiple languages warning of the scam and show the Czech currency. Then stick them at all of the atms
This is a beautiful person and I hope a lot of people support him
You both do amazing work! Stay safe guys :)
You not only have an entertaining channel, but you're actually doing good work exposing these scams!!
angry grandpa, smelly mouth, racoon, runner, fighter, boss, baby, white hat and jagr are confirmed romanians
proud of my nation
Ce este interesant este ca vorbesc poloneza 😂
@@meditationchannel9091I guess that’s interesting
I love that you are some sort of spiderman and basically have a villain gallary.
Happy new year! You are brave!
Greetings from Poland to the entire channel team. I will visit Prague again someday. The only thing I can exchange with scammers is a middle finger sign for good morning. You are doing a great job. Thank you.
Every time when I am in Prague moving for food to „U Parlamentu“ I see one of those guys in Kaprova street before a certain Money exchange 😅
That’s actually one of the best exchange offices in Prague by the way.
You guys are doing the City a great service! The city should be paying you guys!
I love your videos ur so inspiring!
HUGE respect for you guys. PLEASE stay healthy and inspire others leading by example!
honestly, i giggled seeing a guy pretending to be from my country. it's usually the other way around heheh
The guy from india who speaks the famous indian language called indian. Not Hindi. The worst part is he only had to know how to say something in one of the 23 official language of india. 😂
Ok! I managed to stop Orange jacket at Florenc last year!, he was scamming at the bus depot, lady got her money but he ran before the police arrived. Great job lads
The cops just need to follow you around .. they could clean up the scammers in a week. LOL
You are an asset to Czechia - highlighting the best and educating the visitor. Thank you!
my god you guys are dedicated! the city mayor needs to give you guys a knighthood!
Rise Sir Janek
Rise Sir Honza!
City of Prague should give u reward, thank u making streets of Prague safer!
Where is the Romanian guy ”me Albania be careful”
that was salmon
All those scammers smoking and are so disgusting.
The problem is not that they are smoking, don't get confused.
I tell you a secret. Janek was also a smoker many years.
Sounds like the Prag officials don’t care it’s visitors, I won’t visit! Good work honest guide
whoever is watching this in 2024, hows it looking
not good man...
No good. Can't visit Prague or anywhere else until at least 2035... pets obligations and no one to help..
I am just glad you had no scammers from Hungary! I think you'd had plenty of work here too, unfortuantely.
The best solution could be if Czechia also adopt Euros and there is no more hassle of currency conversion.
Always so grateful for channels like this🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
As a Turk, the guy is 100%gyspy and not Turkish
Im not 100% sure but i think he is from Ilov, Rumania
I love you for making this world a little bit better. All the Best!!!!
As a Polish guy - Honza and Janek thank you for your job. You help me to travel across the Europe being save. You are MEN, I'm the PUSSY. I'm not brave enough 😐
Super přeložení Janku
May I ask why don't police do anything? Are they corrupt and covering them? Why don't ordinary citizens try to find out whether there is such a connection? If the police wanted they would have arrested them all already.
because its hard to find proof ,also there is amount of money they need to steal for it to be problem
Police rely on people having common sense, which I guess they are wrong to assume. That being said, this isn’t the crime of the century and the Prague police have other more pressing issues to deal with.
@@saljablo2767 I don't agree. Every crime should be investigated and all the criminals should be put behind the bars. Do you support this "selective law" that applies only to certain people or crimes?
@@vladimiradoshev5310 yea because I live in the real world where time and resources aren’t unlimited. This means in big boy real world land, law enforcement agencies have to focus their efforts on what we call serious crime.
@@saljablo2767 tolerating crime huh? That's so wrong
Next week 14.03.2024 I will flight to Prag and I'm watching your videos which are priceless . Thanks a lot you and your friends to inform us upfront
Mr Janek and Mr Honza - the defenders of Prague. Keep up the good work. I truly respect your courage - I'd be afraid to walk on the street knowing I got on the bad side of such many shady people.
I just love how you have a spreadsheet with the sequential serial numbers and probably have more than they have by now
I'm going down one hell of a rabbit hole with your videos. Great content!
The quick intervention on Sad Guy was so smooth. Phenomenal
@04:53 The absolute body posture of these grown MEN is insane to me 👌👌
