I bought the saber low pro compact pod for £40 and its brilliant. This is pulling peoples pants down for some metal bars. Also Lighting is perfect dude 👌
It is the quality of the metal that makes it more expensive marine grade aluminium is more stronger than just standard mass produced cheap banksticks and pods jag will last u a lifetime buy cheap buy twice
Great review mate. The video repeats and plays twice!! 😂 I had the RP1 for a year and absolutely love it. My only gripe was not enough room for my Diawa 13ft rods and SCW 45 reels as the width wasn’t wide enough. It was ok but the handles would catch with the reel next to it. So glad the RP2 come out for me as I sold the RP1 and now have the RP2 which I absolutely love. There both so quick to set up and pack down your right! Keep up the quality reviews 👍🏻
I know, premier pro was being wierd for some reason crashing tonight so I must have done something when it crashed. I’ve trimmed it but it will take a while to change to that version. Really mate I don’t find it an issue with mine. I use 13fts and 45s too. I used to use really small bars in the past though to be fair so don’t mind the tighter style. Thank you mate got another one coming next week already filmed 👌🏻
It's like a solid gold toilet seat, very expensive and impressive to behold but doesn't really do anything unique to make it worth the money. I've been running an old cygnet quicklock pod (don't know about the new ones since trakker took over) for about 12 years now and it's never let me down despite all the abuse I've given it, it weighs nothing, sets up in seconds and is as solid as a rock.
Great review lee.ive got the solar p1 stainless it was ridiculously expensive but the misses treated me,still like new 4 years on.im also getting old and tight 😂
Glad to see you back Caravan Carpers. If you could get your hands on a Daiwa B-Series Micro Pod, essentially a RP1 copy at a fraction of the cost. I'd like to hear your opinion on it, Take care mate.
I’ve messaged Daiwa but they chinned me off mate in the past, drop them a message to send me one for a review! If I can build some traction then maybe we could start getting more reviews going
Have the solar and looking to swap to this, yeah it's expensive so what, my money, some people spend a lot of money going out drinking ect, least I'll have somert to show for it plus they hold value
Exactly the same for me! All the Jag gear holds it value really well which is another plus point! What solar pod do you have and why are you thinking about changing pal
@gwl78 hiya pal! seems like you got that for a great price! would love to get hold of one to have a really good look at one! What do you like about it?
I love it cos I fish 2 lakes for the most part and one is really weedy so I can have rod tips high or low depending on swims ect just a lot more versatile than other pods and rock solid cos the swims are wooden platforms
It’s had mate yes the material is extra thick on the bottom and there’s a plastic insert it seems in the middle so no chance of going through the bottom
i bought a pod that i have had ten years it holds my carp cat and pike rod stable with my reels delkims and bobbins cost £20 from a company that do not trade any more it does just what you need and do not cost £400+ is it gold plated by any chance
Carp pricing is crazy now, I’m sorry but as a proffesional engineer it does not cost that to make it…..companies will say it’s to cover R&D but it’s all lies that pod cost them £100 to make unless it’s made of titanium then £450 would be reasonable due to the fact it’s just so hard to work. But aluminium….. that was cnc’d on an auto mill then anodized then assembled.
Same I’d love to know, especially as it’s an already known layout it’s purely just adding your touches. But I get it and I’m sure you do, it’s purely branding like wearing Gucci…..although I won’t deny the quality of jag products because they are very well built bits of kit but I’d love to know the exact materials used and the processes as I’m pretty sure it doesn’t cost them even half the RRP to build.
Hiya pal thanks for watching! Watch weeks video proves that point exactly, I’ve not said that you can’t get great tackle at a better price point. What pod/setup do you currently use and what do you like about it ect 👌🏻
The are the JAG Safeliners mate! Thanks for watching cant believe premier pros gone on a wobble and duplicated the video to play twice :( What bobbins do you currently use?
It’s a fantastic pod very well built and made but very expensive just to have your rods sat on it as you said other investment in tackle that will catch you fish would be absolutely more beneficial cracking video
It is very expensive BUT to those that say it's ridiculously priced, simple question- Could "you" make it?? If the answer is no then someone else has to!!Have you paid for the premises to make this product in? Have you bought the saws, lathes, tools, employees wages, trained someone or have the skills yourself to make it?? These are called overheads and they ALL have to be paid for first before a single penny is made in profit!!! Hence the price.
Totally agree, Im an engineer by trade myself so totally get what you’re saying it is a super high quality product and I get why it’s expensive the raw materials alone now are stupid price wise.
It will 100 percent outlast any of the non machined bank sticks and pods ect as plastic is no substitute for machined stuff but like you say it is very expensive. Fanatic bit of kit though
The bag isn’t great quality at all. When they used to use Cotswolds Aquarius its WAS. The zip is literally the cheapest little zip with tiny zipper. Not got a nice large or even rubberised finish Inside the bag there is no retaining straps or seperate pocket for swingers, additional bank sticks, receiver etc Also if you use fox alarms with fixed snag ears the bag is so tight it’s gonna pop the zip. Isn’t padded at all
I find it completely fine for what I need it for personally pal. Yea that is a good point about the extra pockets would have been a really good idea to be fair great point. I just have all my bits inside in a Korda compac pouch. I don’t use fox alarms only Nash and Delkim fortunately but that could be a huge pain for fox users. Thank you for commenting
@CaravanCarpers I bought one of the first commercially available pods in the 80's, made by Gardner. Never used one since, I don't like them, if I had my own lake rule number 1 would be no pods 🤣🤣
I think OMC has the best value bank stick at the min with the new range, same quality as the premium brands at a cheaper price. I’ll be reviewing that stuff soon also 👌🏻
Looks well made to be fair with the carbon and titanium but it doesn’t look to offer the compacted footprint that I get from the RP1 what I was looking for in a pod I don’t want to have to put bits together to have to construct it. Looks much better value money wise though with the use of titanium and carbon

They will last for ages though, i doubt the saber one will.

Fantastic review mate! Fair, honest review… keep these coming 👏🏼
Thank you
Another great review. The setup is so quick, thats what impressed me most.
I've got the Fox QR pod and I love it but the setup can take 10 minutes
Hi Gareth! Yea the fox is a great pod also but like you say so much easier to set this up speed wise

If it works for you pal and like you say has stood the test of time then no need to change is there. Thanks for watching pal
Great review lee.ive got the solar p1 stainless it was ridiculously expensive but the misses treated me,still like new 4 years on.im also getting old and tight 😂
Haha I’ll have to have a look when we are out in a few weeks pal!

Top top top, I love your channel 👏 🎉
My wishlist with products for review: Solar, Ridgemonkey, Poseidon Angelsport, Carp Spirit, Trakker
Thank you very much. I have some bits that I could review from some of them brands.
Great bit of kit , I’ve got the compact had it for years really compact and hard wearing still looks new , expensive but well worth it
I wish I had gone with the compact when I first bought my micro
It’s a brilliant bit of kit but rp1 is so fast especially for over nighters
Yea deffo! You think it won’t matter and to some people it won’t but a couple of things I hate is faf when setting up.
I really like my summit cobalt rod pod,£340 but well made and built to last.i have bought cheap before
Nice the summit tackle looks really well made!
Absolute astronomical price. At the end of the day it just holds your rods stable. No need to pay more than £150 for a pod
What pod do you use Keving mate? What do you like about it ect
@@CaravanCarpers pro logic K1, does everything that a pod needs to do and doesn’t break the bank
@@KevinMack-mk3di ah perfect ill have a look at it pal thank you for replying! Thats the issue like you say a pod is a pod

I have a solar P1 stainless for £350 with buzzbars. It's a fantastic pod, looks the nuts too.
@gwl78 hiya pal! seems like you got that for a great price! would love to get hold of one to have a really good look at one! What do you like about it?
Which buzz bars? 3 rod adjustable are at least 50 quid each( the ones I have) so that's 380 minimum.
@@CaravanCarpers Had the p1 about about 18 months. Honest opinion. Overrated.
Hardly ever use it as a pod, 95% of the time use as a goalpost set up.
@darrylclarkson1799 got from Johnson Ross they were doing s deal on them at time.
I love it cos I fish 2 lakes for the most part and one is really weedy so I can have rod tips high or low depending on swims ect just a lot more versatile than other pods and rock solid cos the swims are wooden platforms
Materials they use are incredible but that price tag is way too high. Now Labour are in government things like this will be a thing of the past 😂
Tax tax and more tax pal 😂 it is made fantastically! What is your current pod or bars you use?
I hope the bag has a reinforced bottom, otherwise it will go due to pod spikes
It’s had mate yes the material is extra thick on the bottom and there’s a plastic insert it seems in the middle so no chance of going through the bottom
Top bit of kit that
Yea mate it’s megga! Have you managed to use the new brolly yet pal

@@CaravanCarpers it was made by carp kinetics never let me down and bought through a company called dragon carp

It would be great to goto a tool maker and have one made but the first one would cost a fortune to produce wouldn’t it
Paid £380 for mine brand new instead of around £420 what they were when they first come out
Bargain of a price compared to the RRP now! What do you think of it? Would you agree or disagree with anything I’ve said? Thanks for watching pal
Very versatile pod but a lot of money, but I disagree there's some fabulous tackle available for not much money this day and age

@CaravanCarpers your a engineer what sort
I’d like to know how much it actually costs to make the pod, it would be a lot more that £70 I’d imagine but be great to actually know
Im a High Voltage electrical engineer atm but I can do most things as from 16-30 I was a marine engineer in the Navy
