The episode was pretty accurate in portraying Jeff and Tony’s relationship in a bite-sized portion, although it left a large interesting part out of it.
Jeff had actually (most likely) known Tony for waaaay longer than depicted in the episode.
Tony’s friend (as seen in the episode) had actually said that Jeffrey and Tony had known eachother since 1989, and had a close relationship at some point. Other people in the gay scene in downtown Milwaukee also support this, and say that Jeff would even go into gay bars specifically to look for Tony. Jeff and Tony having a relationship that stayed exclusive to the club scene is not that weird, since thats how a lot of gay men stayed in contact at the time.
Jeff denied all this in his confession, and maintained that he had never met Tony before the night of the killing.
This might be a stretch, but I think he did know Tony, and that he denied all romantic interactions with him cuz of his repressed sexuality. Despite going to gay bars and stuff, he was still quite insecure in his orientation, so i think while he came to terms with the fact he wanted to have sex with men, i dont think he was quite comfortable with the fact that he had fallen in love with one. Who knows
anyway the world lost a pure soul that day to the hands of a monster RIP Tony Hughes ❤

Jeff also seemed to be a compulsive and skilled liar, which made detecting him so difficult.

@@LifeAlmostWithoutus I also think they mixed his story with another victim “Jeremiah” that Dahmer spent 2 days with him before killing him. He told the police it’s the only time he felt he was in a relationship with someone

I want to say so much yet I can't because I don't want to spoil the series for you. I'm basically making this comment to just support you guys, lol.
I started watching this series without knowing anything. I didn't even know it was about a real serial killer until episode two, I believe, when at the end of it it said "the real conversation with the police". I'm not American and I wasn't even born during those years so that's my excuse for not knowing about him. I just saw a few vids about serial killers before but obviously his name didn't stick with me. So I was pretty surprised when I realised it was a real person and watched the rest of the show in a different light. I was flabbergasted many times how he kept getting away with it several times. It felt like watching a bad written fiction yet at the same time knowing it was real was seriously weird. I was watching it with my mouth open pretty much the whole time. Obviously I didn't only take the series for granted and made my own research afterwards. Dahmer is indeed pretty different from other serial killers which is what makes him interesting and hard to understand. I will elaborate more once you guys are done with the series. Take your time, it's indeed a hard watch.

We really appreciate the support. Look into the golden state killer. How he evaded being caught so long is just insane.
      Thanks again

Tony was said he wrote Babyface, which was a joke

    Singer,Song writer and Producer

A heartbreaking episode, which makes episode 10 even sweeter. When Tony mentions he has written letters to “Babyface “ at the dinner table, he is talking about singer and songwriter Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds who is known as just “Babyface” he has written countless hits for artists during the late 80s, 90s, and he is still going strong.
