    I'm 77 years old. Francis Chan preaches a Christianity that I want to experience. Live the Bible, live it radically. Yes, I want that. Please pray for me.

    Talk all the bad that you want, but how many lives have you changed??? All glory to the Holy Spirit, yes; but when did Chan ever take glory or credit for anything??? This man is willing to go where God wants him to go and do what God wants him to do, so I praise him for his willingness because we all have the same opportunity to do what he does, but many of us are not willing to actually do it. Thanks Francis for your willingness to follow as the Lord leads you.

    Please watch more of his stuff, this sermon is much different than his other sermons. He refers to bible passages vaguely in this sermon because the audience are bible college students. He gears his message to the sole purpose of motivating these students away from comfort into the Great Commission, for which we are called.

    Amen! Amen! What wonderful encouragment! The fields were ripe 2000 years ago, and they are even more today! Pray for my boldness as everywhere I go, my presence will always point to Christ, and His Cross... Time is of the very essence! I shall pray for you as well! Thank you for taking your time. It gave me encouragement to press on today "even more". As The Remnant is becoming more Clear by the very fruits produced, and the sinners are soooo searching! In the Valley of Decision! Glory to Jesus!

    Many places of employment do not allow people to have freedom of speech. I'm just a volunteer, and yesterday some customer at the place I was volunteering complained to the management. They asked me not to talk about religion or politics any more, which will happen maybe when I'm dead. I've been there for 2-1/2 years and have had many blessed conversations with Believers and not, including several Muslims. The lady yesterday who heard me talking to someone else was probably hoping to get me fired, but how does one "fire" a volunteer who does a lot of work for free? Anyway, it must be very hard at many places of employment to be yourself.

    He is speaking to students who are already studying the Word and to be courageous with the Gospel that we do not be ashamed or afraid to share the Truth. God asked are you going to appease man or are going to glorify God. He will get His glory regardless but He already has asked "who will go and speak and tell the people" the Truth. Don't let the rocks cry out, my brothers and sisters in Christ. I feel so blessed that there are radical Christians for Christ. We just have to use knowledge and discernment when speaking to all people. Let Holy Spirit lead you and pray before you walk out into the world and ask for guidance to speak to just one person. People's souls are at stake. You all know either eternal Heaven or eternal hell. even if that person rejects you. just know Jesus said "if they reject you remember they rejected me first". God bless all of you.

    @MrD2dude I agree with the verse, but I don't think Francis meant it as "living biblically is hard" or "living Biblically is a burden".....we have to fight the good fight of faith! and whatever we do, we have to Work at it with all of our hearts to the glory of God and not unto men. He will give us strength to do so!

    Amen again - You have it right from the Lutheran POV. The impossible conundrum still remains - that Jesus makes extraordinary demands - on top of faith - such as forgiving everybody - that hopelessly confounds 'sola fide'

    I don't wish to quarel ! But, I don't wish for people to hear my brother wrong. He is a prophet and a teacher, and speaking what God is trying to speak to His Body in a timely manner. I endorse our brother 100% (not because he is perfect in doctrine) but because I see a True Love for Jesus/ for others, and he lives his faith outloud, and is not in any specific "camp". So, I write this for anyone who would think I am not endorsing this teaching.. as if I am anything'..lol But God is Everything!

    Faith produces works. Yet, works for Legal compliance do not justify a person.
    If you Love Jesus, and know His love for you, and the extent He went to in order that you might live, why WOUDN'T you want to share Him?
    To keep silent and to keep that Love of His to yourself, would be the exact opposite of what He came to do. So you see, knowing Him and loving Him, produces works because we want to love Him and keep His commands of loving others.

    sometimes. we humans tend to get the when wrong sometimes (and maybe too often). But to think it must never be put on the line is maybe a little unwise, for we must sometimes subscribe to the reality of someone beyond our understanding by His grace granting us understanding.

    There is truth to this! But as believers we must rightly divide the Word of God. We need "EVEN MORE" follow Our Savior's example of getting alone with The Father MUCH! This is when we are filled with His purpose, and I have noticed.....The closer I get with God's Word and listen to His Spirit in alone times....I have His Wisdom when out in the world, and can see who is hurting, who is struggling, who needs a godly touch, or a seasoned word. conclusion= Spend much time with God, so He can use us'

    I wish i could meet this little guy and pick his brain,he has such a real perspective of the reality of the bible! i often study the word and sit back and wonder if the disciples would even recognize the messages preached today as a true gospel,or if what we call Christianity today would be recognized as a christian to Jesus and the disciples,or would they look at us like a calf looking at a brand new benz?

    It is, I totally agree with you, obvious that the religions are primitive, superstitious understandings of the world that we should have shed many centuries ago when we began to understand how the world worked.
    We no longer think that earthquakes and thunder are the voices of angry gods; we no longer have to scare ourselves with stories of eternity in a bland place - or a torture-chamber.
    You don't have to be subtle and clever to know these things, so there might be some hope for you!
    Peace.

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a question of capacity - not just 'wanting' - If we could produce the kind of works Jesus commands - ironically we wouldn't need salvation. I don't know anybody who complies with those commands -

    • @charliechan6892
      @charliechan6892 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thethikboy it is through jesus and the Holy Ghost that you get the power to do those works, so yes you would need salvation. why do you guys keep saying that when the tough bible verses get brought up?
      jesus said it himself, not francis, it is through him you can do these things, not by your own accord, and the Bible never suggests that.

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Stuff like what? The roller coster back and forth that makes no sense?

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Since I didn't express any 'feelings' or thoughts of the kind that you are accusing me of, you are wishfully thinking. I am Lutheran, and Luther was unhappy with the letter of James as a kind of 'one off'. Luther did accept Sola Scriptura in any case.

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This really confuses matters even more - especially considering that Chan is of the Reformed variety - believing in salvation by faith.
    Jesus spoke of the Pharisees outward behavior as whited sepulchres (works) in contradction to their inward disposition (faith) dead bones.
    Righteousness according to Jesus - is not just a matter of outward legal compliance (works)

    • @RevRichard3rdJD
      @RevRichard3rdJD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Works speak to the faith.
      Jesus went after the Pharisees because they held the law to the tenth degree without understanding the meanings behind the laws...thus manipulating good law into twisted laws that made no sense...
      Like washing your hands and feet ceremonially before entering the table...instead...pharisees did ceremonial washings everywhere...not Gods law...Jesus called them out on manipulating it. Same with the Sabbath

    predestination, faith ,works - quite a jumble -
    So according to James we have to 'prove' our faith with works - Didn't the Pharisees prove with works- I mean they were all about proving with works.
    Does that mean they had faith? clear as mud.

    Look at Jesus - don't look at yourself. Isn't it the Holy Spirit who bears the fruit in the life of a believer? Won't the believer fail if he "tries" to bear fruit? If she "works" at bearing fruit? Don't look for the results. Other people will experience the results as the Spirit works through you.

  • @thethikboy
    @thethikboy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes of course - the one trick pony - on works justification - I am well aware of that contradiction - that doens't indict all of Scripture

  • @edog5005
    @edog5005 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The text of the bible is the ONLY thing that matters. I find those who have the most problem with the reformed position go on "feelings" rather than on the text of scripture. "I can't possibly worship a God who thinks/acts like that" they say. Well God is who he is as he has revealed through his word. And there is a complexity and fullness to his salvation that you seem to want to ignore because it is unappealing to you. I implore you to read to bible with an open heart and mind.

    You must get tired of reading the bible then too. "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." -Romans 8:29 "But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble!" -James 2:18-19

      so we, as Christians can't say anything without reciting scripture? where are you getting that? one of Chan's core messages is reading the Word for ourselves. So, exhorting others to read the Bible is "nothing" because it's not the Bible? actually I probably should just completely ignore your thoughts because, by your definition, they're nothing.

    • @PcNdou

      MrArtist1971 if it's from the new testament it isn't of god? I'd repent brother, and then I'd read the book of isiah, and also the book of daniel, the book of jeremiah specifically talks about the new covenant and the reasoning behind it, because of isreals idolatry, they broke the old covenant, these books are all from the old testament, so please explain to me, without the nt, and jesus, where is this "new covenant" God speaks of?

    • @charliechan6892
      @charliechan6892 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      let's not forget in the book of genesis, when God stops Abraham from killing isaac, he says "I alone will provide"
      do you even know what that means? brother, God is talking about the sacrifice of his own son, instead of having people sacrifice their sons like they did for baal, and molech, God said no, I will send my only begotten son to die on your place, for God so loved the world.
      and of course, at that time, God said sacrifice a ram instead, teach isaac in my ways, I shall bless you, it goes on and on brother

    Chan has an insight - but I don't think it's articulated well - his emotional dramatic delivery scatters the point - because he is always playing it by ear -
    The three amigos Chan,Platt and Piper are continually flipping between personal discipline (works) and divine grace (faith/grace)-
    It gets really tiresome and baffling to follow their rhetorical roller coaster.
