The six episode runtime on the series is the biggest problem, IMO. They needed at least 2-4 more episodes to flesh out the story and characters. It picked up pace as the season wore on and I think a lot of the criticisms you have about the rushed actions would have been set up better. Character growth was the best part of this series (not you Keiran) and they kneecapped it with the myriad of plotlines that didn't have enough runtime to thread together in a seamless way. Not saying the fear mantra in full but rather using a rudimentary version was great. Fan service without going overboard. I am looking forward to season two, even if there were some flaws. I didn't read these books as I tried to read one of Brian's Dune books (can't remember which one) and it was so bad I had to give it to Goodwill when I finished to cleanse my brain.
The idea of sisterhood being just Desi Aunties trying matchmake everyone they see and making breeding records just like how Aunties collect Biodatas from everyone is so funny to me. I just can't look at them the same again...😂😂😂
Why would that matter when in the beginning of the season she was willing to send her off to the sisterhood. She should have been against it from the beginning.
@@eja9539 I appreciate what you're saying but at the beginning of the series Natalya does not have the leverage to insist. But by the time Ynez is caught trying to help Kierren escape she has also broken ranks with the Royal House by implicating her Father in the death of her fiance.
Possible name suggestions for the Fortune Cookie of Fear: The Screed of Scariness The Epic of Intimidation The Ballad of Bad Times The Sonnet of Pure Horror
Can someone tell me why a Reverend Mother of the Sisterhood is not able to change the poison in the Gom Jabar? Is Meta-Cyanide the one poison they can't change? I found it a little too convenient that Francessca is killed off.
@@jencendiary You're right, we don't have definitive proof. If, in Season 2 it is revealed that she was in the midst of transmuting the poison, I would be very happy to have proof that the show runners do indeed know the lore. I would love to see the pick up of that scene next season where Natalya gets the guards and brings them back to the room only to find that Javicho's body is the only one in the room.
Aren't we in the beginning of what will become the Sisterhood, so maybe they haven't perfected their transmutation skills? Maybe the "instant death" poison of the gom jabbar cannot be trans mutated? As far as Francesca is concerned... by the end of season one... Valya's two best friends are dead (Francesca and Kasha) and Valya is separated from her sister Tula. Thus, it seems that the screws are tightening around Valya and she is all alone.... just as someone or something wanted or planned.
@jencendiary then you can just turn your brain off when watching movies. I admit that it has good moments, but when I start thinking about what happened I realize how dumb this show is. There are so many things that just don't make any sense
It was really nice that Constantine got to have a big nap during the events of this episode
Let's spare a prayer for the poor NCOs keeping him alive on Arrakis.

I think Avila told Dorothea what happened to the rest of her followers .
Thank you for the podcast , love it!
Natalya knows that Ynez is too much in the camp with the Sisterhood, which she hates.

Absolutely here for the CK3 reference and yes it 100% needs a good Dune mod
They couldn't left Keiran Atreides behind. He's so wooden he is not able to move on his own.
Same I wished he sacrificed himself in the final escape 😅

Leave all hopes of finding any sense in this show
Do we know she's dead?

💔 the emperor
I can't imagine what kind of problems creators had that can be an excuse for this show to be that stupid
I didn't find this show to be stupid at all. I was engaged from the first to the last. I laughed and wept and cannot wait until S2.

@@Haterbek I think that's an uncharitable description of my media consumption.
@@jencendiary didn't mean that being able to turn brain off is a bad thing. It's actually good because you can just enjoy the show
@@Haterbek Fair enough.
