Thanks. I just finished my three Greek classes in seminary and I’m trying to read daily so I don’t lose any of the progress I’ve made. Still feel like I have a long way to go.
So timely of a post! Am deciding what to whittle away of things in my life for new year. I feel no progress in the studying of greek, so it was almost on the chopping block. Thanks for the encouragement! Merry Christmas!
Thank you for posting this. I plan on doing this in January of 2025. I can't afford to buy books; this will have to suffice. And GOD willingly, he will help me learn through these videos. I like the idea of writing everything out in a notebook.
I believe the key to never losing one's Greek is building a strong vocabulary and reading daily. I learned this from Dr. Plummer and Dr. Darryl Burling's video: th-cam.com/video/mZf0RY9rcIU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YZyFSi_jrXuEFu8a, where Dr. Burling quotes Dr. Plummer. I started learning Greek on my own one year ago and have grown my vocabulary to nearly 3,000 words. I'm confident I will never lose my Greek as long as I continue solidifying my vocabulary and reading Greek daily.
In 2024: I have written out in Greek: Matthew, Mark, Romans, Galatians, John's letters, Revelation, 2/3rds of John. Aim for 2025: Write out in Greek the remaining New Testament books.
I bought two XL moleskines in 2024; one to write out verses from the OT and the other for verses from the NT. I also have collected more books on Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek than I’ll ever need (as a lay person). But a lot of the times I worked unstructured with 3 biblical languages and it felt a little overbearing at times. So more structure for 2025!
Try to keep it up. I've been reading a chapter of the Greek NT a day (starting with Matthew on to Revelations and then back to Matthew) for over 25 years and there is always more to notice.
I bought the 28th edition of the Nestle-Aland critical text. Unfortunately, it follows the same nonsensical text choice of the 3rd edition of UBS at John 9:4a. 'We must work the works of the one who sent me'; the body of manuscripts supporting 'We' are rejected in order to provide the 'me' at the end of the clause. The text, in my view, ought to read either 'I must work the works of the one who sent me' or 'We must work the works of the one who sent us', based upon a consistent attitude to the witnessing manuscripts.
Thankyou Dr Plummer and team for your work in 2024! As always, much appreciated and God bless to you all xxx
I am following you for almost five years. I am thankful to you. (from Türkiye)

Thank you Lord for providing extra for them to study in the manner you want them to. In Jesus name amen.
What kind of books would you be looking for? A lot of the best books are past copyright. Maybe I could help you find something worthwhile?

Need to finish BBG by the end of Feb. The community part sounds exciting. God will provide.
Truth be told, after finishing the whole Greek NT for the second time this year, I don't know how to go up from here.
Learn to speak Ancient Greek! It’s super fun and there are groups on Facebook and online to learn using a spoken approach.

The most enviorment friendly is to recircle the one you used last year.
( I didnt make all the greek new testament this year, but ... )
Challenge accepted!
