I have been watching your channel for a year now and seeing what you have done with your layout made me come back to the hobby after 21 years out of it.Thanks for taking time and making these videos kudo's to you and happy railroading.
I started trains when a family friend who out grew his Marx tin plate set handed over his one engine with tender and several cars to me - along with enough track, .027 three rail to fill a 4x8 plywood layout. This set looked nothing like the cars and engine this particular video is highlighting but my friend Dave and I had a ball creating crashes by running the engine into what ever we could stack up on the tracks - we were 9 or 10 and during the winter when there was little else to occupy our interest that train set gave us hours and hours of great pleasure. I'd like to say that your video is pretty darn amazing and so real looking that I'm just about blown away by what I'm seeing except for one minor difference between my layout childhood layout and real track and the near perfection of your layout. Now I have to say the train video's I enjoy watching most are made by people who seem to delight in watching all rolling stock creep along track that looks like rails that haven't been maintained or even looked at for several generations of rail maintenance crews and the wooden ties are so far gone that I have to wonder why any railroad would risk having one of their engines topple over when there is so little to support the weight of an engine. And its fun - to a certain degree anyway - watching an engine creep along tracks that probably shouldn't have the weight of a flat bed car rolling along them never mind an engine that weighs many tons more than tracks in poor condition should be asked to support. And that's what I'd like to see - tracks that wiggle from side to side and roll across depressions because the ties that years before supported the weight of a real engine have rotted into piles of brown termite eaten dust. I'm just commenting on what I'm thinking and I mean no disrespect for your good work or your layout.
To this day even with the more modern diesel locos my favorites are still the BN(BNSF)40-2’s listening to 2 or 3 sitting at idle is the best . Great looking locos ..
I must admit the sounds ar a bit boring after a time, a change in diologue? Wouldn't hurt a little, especially when starting up two different locomotives at the same time, but Eric thanks again for great review. All the best from the UK.
The way the x designation was explained to me by my grandfather who was an engineer for the Burlington Northern said it stood for privately owned equipment AWRX, FURX, NREX are just some examples of lease companies plenty of others that are not lease companies such as unit coal train hoppers examples of those are PSCX "Public Service Of Colorado", NPPX "Nebraska Public Power" PGEX "Portland GAS and Electric"...etc
Hey Eric, could you do a review of the Pennsylvania LIONCHIEF PLUS 2.0 GG1 #4916? I was wondering if it would be a worthwhile buy to go with my fleet of modernism passenger cars.
Reporting marks are interesting. I have two fictional ones I use SIW is Staten Island West my shortline and HEOX is Hess Oil for my Hess depot (to display my Hess mini trucks on my HO layout).
Hey Eric, great job on this video! Really enjoyed it! These SD40-2s sound incredible! With my phones on,I picked up a bit of a Doppler effect when you first had them taking off! Usually it’s the Real trains that do that! Awesome!
even though i was born in 2004 i still will get this but CSX crazy 8, because i know about that wreck and i like there sd 40s becuse their noses as well as bn and up's and santa fe's didn't have a slant
@erictrians, in the legacy controller manual the manual shows the different options for controlling the legacy and the tmcc engines which are pretty obvious for the people who are familiar with Lionel. But the one option to run is rel 100 mode but the manual gibberishly states what that is. could that mode be for the conventional locomotives ?
That Milwaukee Road Bicentennial loco looks a lot like the GP38s that used to run on the LIRR. Perhaps a potential candidate for repainting as a fantasy unit in the future.
I was going to buy all 3 powered Milwaukee road ones but when they arrived I was disappointed and instead bought some other stuff I had been eyeing for awhile. Instead I'll probably buy some brass sd40-2s.
i like how you run your trains!!!! i mean the speed at which it looks realistic to the layout, some peoples videos if you've noticed run them it seems all out! and looks totally unrealistic,,,, have you've ever noticed this??? thx!
Forgive this unworthy one but I have mth st 40-2s and they can do 031 turns . This should do the same.....what we need is side by side mth and lionel ad 40-2s
Enjoy the vid. Bloopers at the end.
Great video eric
Well done video Eric as yousulal
random dude the sequel take it back to where you bought it
Always love the bloopers at the end of the video.
lol i will
I love how you include the history of the real locomotive.
“Heres.a sampling of the s***” LOL 😂

Another great review Eric! The SD40-2 is a true solid model in both real life and in O scale.
Glad you got some more FURX units in your fleet.

Worked for First Union 30 years.......May need one of these.
I remember seeing a FURK doing some yard switching in the Vancouver BNSF rail yard last year.
To this day even with the more modern diesel locos my favorites are still the BN(BNSF)40-2’s listening to 2 or 3 sitting at idle is the best . Great looking locos ..
My only complaint is that it's using 710G3C engine sounds instead of an actual 645E3 power plant
The next Eric’s Trains episode is going to be picking up a real SD-40-2 for the AWRX. All profits to the o-scale train fund lol
sweeet.
Redlineoverload Productions still cheaper than Vision Line
Fun fact: the furx 3021 was originally a DRGW Sd40t-2 #5402
Thanks
They converted a Tunnel motor to a Standard SD40-2?
Denniss7420 yeah
Glad to see the correct color on your rails !
Lionel sure loves that crew talk guy! He's in everything these days! Time to change it up! No bump on the locos they are great. Ova!
Would like to see different dialogue from time to time
I must admit the sounds ar a bit boring after a time, a change in diologue? Wouldn't hurt a little, especially when starting up two different locomotives at the same time, but Eric thanks again for great review. All the best from the UK.
Second Best Feature, In My Opinion: The "exhaust" output matches the RPM rate.
That’s a great looking loco. Thanks for the review. HO scaler signing off
I love the weathered freight cars.

I was wondering if it would be a worthwhile buy to go with my fleet of modernism passenger cars.
I will review the Lionchief GG1 when it comes out
Eric: There is nothing to dislike about the engine.
I hear price:...........ok
Thanks for the explanation on the RR nomenclature - I never knew.
esiegel76 OG subscribers are gonna have flashbacks to the old Atlas FURX SD40-2 when they saw this on the feed
Love the unboxings, Eric!
Reporting marks are interesting. I have two fictional ones I use
SIW is Staten Island West my shortline and HEOX is Hess Oil for my Hess depot (to display my Hess mini trucks on my HO layout).
Great video Eric! Awesome sounding locomotive! Loved the bloopers. Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome evening!

I seen those 2 SD40-2s on the 2 freight trains in Georgia
even though i was born in 2004 i still will get this but CSX crazy 8, because i know about that wreck and i like there sd 40s becuse their noses as well as bn and up's and santa fe's didn't have a slant
I wish I had that kind of room.very nice layout.

Be nice If Lionel made these engines to handle 0-36 curves. They put a lot of nice locos, but I can't run any of them.
Glad to see an ETD on the end of the consist. Good video.
Thanks!
Very nice SD40-2 and great video Eric
Gotta be my favorite Lease unit paint ever.
Nice video. What stuck out to me was the ditch lights. I don't think Lionel has done them like that before. They look good.
fast forward to 2022 the FURX 3012 has now been sold to the Atlantic & Great Western Railroad (G&W property) now as the AGR 3373
Cool I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info
thanks eric

Yo. Saw a norfolk southern one yesterday. 82!?!?!?!? Wow
Nice looking engine. Thanks for sharing.
I like the new video style! Very nice.
I was going to buy all 3 powered Milwaukee road ones but when they arrived I was disappointed and instead bought some other stuff I had been eyeing for awhile. Instead I'll probably buy some brass sd40-2s.
u plan acquiring any Southern Pacific SD40R's from Lionel in the future or not bother or interested in those particular engines ?????
Why does the prime mover sound just like my Legacy SD60E?
dont you already have a furx lease loco eric? this seems famliar sniff sniff
I really want an SD 40-2 from Lionel but there are non in this 2020 catalog. Maybe I can get one from MTH
Great review of a beautiful engine Eric
Do 3 rail trains work with Lionel or MTH
Both I think
I love this loco, I may have to get my hands on it! Great Review Eric!!!
Love the bloopers at the end.
Great review Eric. Maybe you can run the Atlas versions too. Thank you.

i like how you run your trains!!!! i mean the speed at which it looks realistic to the layout, some peoples videos if you've noticed run them it seems all out! and looks totally unrealistic,,,, have you've ever noticed this??? thx!
Thanks!
The track sections on the flat car was an interesting load out. Is that OEM or a custom job by Eric's Trains?
Larry Rogers That’s a car made my MTH
Pretty cool locomotive. LJL
Forgive this unworthy one but I have mth st 40-2s and they can do 031 turns . This should do the same.....what we need is side by side mth and lionel ad 40-2s
