- If you are heading to Vietnam one of the first decisions you will have to make is where should you land... Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City! In this video I will help you decide which places works best for you and where to go once you get there.
Hanoi was incredibly unique and definitely want to go back there. I've been to Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei, etc. If I'm going to Vietnam, I'm not going for a typical Asian city experience. I'm going there for the culture, food, sightseeing, and anything unique that other countries don't offer. Phu Quoc was also very nice. That island is definitely touristy, but nice beach vibes
Yeah I absolutely agree. To me Hanoi felt more uniquely Vietnam, but I have been more places off the beaten path too and I have to say Vietnam is actually a pretty hard to nail down as one thing. There are a lot of different types of geography and people living there.
Thank you so much for a very helpful content
Well thank so much for watching! I really appreciate you taking the time to give a compliment. 😊
Thank you very useful information
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful :). If you are heading to Vietnam, I hope you have an amazing trip!
Saigon and Hanoi are VERY different, including cultures and society. Good and bad things in both. You have to visit both to know which one suits you.
For sure. They have a completely different vibe about them. I definitely think both are a must visit, if you have the time.
Vietnam is a spectacular country-both the urban and the rural...so fascinating. Hanoi is the more touristy place.
Yeah the is an abundance of beauty no matter where you go in Vietnam.
Do you have any advice taking the sleeper train from HCM to Hanoi? I'm really interested for my research before traveling there.
Yes I have a little insight into that. I have not taken the sleeper train all the way there, but I did take it to Mui Ne, from Ho Chi Minh and back. First I will say that if you are booking your ticket be sure to go directly to the railway website. There are other 3rd party sites that look like the website, but are more expensive and have less options. I don't believe TH-cam will let me post the link, but I am going to write is out with a dot instead of the (.) so hopefully it will get through (dsvn dot vn).. if you can't find it google Vietnam Train Website and go to wikipedia. At the bottom of wiki page you can find the official booking website link.
Now as far as other advice. If you have are prone to motion sickness, the train may not be the best bet for you. Especially the sleeper cabin. The way they had the beds arranged made you rock from head to feet instead of side to side. I personally was fine and only felt a little off, but my wife got pretty sick. The other thing I will say is depending on the amount of time you are spending in Vietnam a plane may be a better bet. It is more expensive, but it will take you only a 1h 25min vs 17h 14min. Usually the plane tickets are relatively inexpensive in comparison to most countries so personally I would spend $30-60 more and save a day. If you just want the experience though, maybe you want to stop at different locations a long the way, or you are there for a long time and are budget constrained go for it.
Sorry for the book. I hope some of this helps. If you have any more questions let me know and I will do my best to answer.
👍💛
interesting. I want to move in Vietnam. Sepo? What is it? I can't find this city on the map
sapa vietnam
❤
What city is at 5:48? Thanks in advance!
Mua Cave in Ninh Binh... I didn't get to go to that particular city so that was stock footage there. The city right before it with all the people and river was Hoi An near Da Nang.
Is HCMC vs Hanoi kinda like BKK vs Chiang Mai?
Honestly not sure. I haven't been to Chiang Mai. I can see the comparison of BKK and HCMC though. I'd say BKK might be slightly more developed in some ways at least as far as road systems are concerned, but HCMC is getting there for sure.
Vung tau is actually popular, not the prettiest beach but actually popular.
Gen Z nowadays want beautiful and clean beach, which is why Vung Tau is not on their top 3…
And because there is a follow the sheep type of movement….tourist never seen or heard of Vung Tau so it’s not a city for touristSzz
Yeah for sure. I've been there quite a few times over the years. I love it! I know it is very popular in Vietnam, but like you said the foreign tourist aren't as aware of it.
You should write names of cities) it's hard to find))
Yeah I actually thought about that. Maybe I can put chapters and do that.
Places closer to Ho Chi Minh City:
Vũng Tàu
Nha Trang
Da Lat
Mui Ne
Can Tho
Places closer to Hanoi
Ha Long Bay
Sapa
Ninh Binh
More of course but I haven't traveled to all of them..
Also I mentioned Da Nang and Phu Quoc... Hope this helps.

Really... Well I am sure you have your reasons, but my wife and I had a great time.
Great, No one need or want you to come back to Viet Nam at all though. Your Ancestor left Motherland and so Did you, No one need you at all.
