yeah, malay is such a fascinating language. it’s not just useful because of indonesia’s rise (with the fourth largest population in the world), but also because it’s like a true global language-a rojak mix of so many influences. it shares the same base with other austronesian languages like tagalog, taiwanese aboriginal languages, pacific Islanders languages like māori, fijian, and even malagasy in east africa, which is why so many words are similar with them. on top of that, it’s rich in sanskrit, so if you know malay, reading buddhist or hindu scriptures becomes much easier. and thanks to history, you’ll also find influences from portuguese, hokkien, and a large amount of english. pretty incredible, really.
When come to learning Malay language, focus on sentence structure (SVO - Subject, Verb, Object) and word order. Start with basic sentence construction like “Saya pergi ke pasar” (I am going to the market) and gradually move to more complex sentence structures. Reading children's books or news articles in Malay can introduce you to more expressions in this language.

I would add that once you start speaking Malay to the Malay hawkers, passers by, etc, your conversation ability will improve quickly. And this is way better and more effective than learning from this Malay teacher from iTalki...trust me.

Malay language is not that hard to learn compared to Mandarin, and it has about 80-90% similiarity with its neighboring country language, the Indonesian language. So if you can speak Malay, it is easy to speak and understand Indonesian language too, just in case if u want to travel to Indonesia. Malay/Indonesia altogether are spoken by 300 million people. 我发现日常生活中马来语里面英语的舶来词很多，但和英文不同的拼写和发音，马来文的拼写怎么简单怎么来，挺有意思的😅好奇问一下，对于马来华人来说，最熟练掌握的语言是怎么排序的，英文，中文，马来文？平时心里想事情是用哪个语言，做数学口算的时候是用的什么语言？
要看环境。虽然我的小孩从小接触中文，英文和马来文。他跟他的朋友比较喜欢用英文来沟通。在家里，跟我们用中英文。我们会“鼓励”他多用中文。他的马来文比较差，可能比较少讲。
想是广东话，数学华文，电影用英文字幕，马来文最后。马来文学了九年，但是过后二十多年少用已经忘到7788了。
从小看报纸和电视学习中文和马来文，上学后再学习英文
语言不是我的强项。如果要排序的话，英文，中文（小学程度），马来文（高中后比较少用）。口算会用中文。可能小时候背乘法表时是用中文。😅

确实是有很多的舶来词语，这可是“联合国”的语言啊！英语多得我就不说了，其中它也参杂了中文，印度语，日语，还有其它不知名国家的语言，而让我最印象深刻的词语是“扑街”这个词，它是来自粤语的“pokai”！这词可以在马来词典上找到。。

基本上会读 ba bi bu, ca ci cu, da di du, fa, fi, fu.....到 21个英语母字（除了a, e, i, o, u ）。大概就能掌握70% or 80% 的马来语的基初了。加油。

学马来话不难，但要说得地道的话，对非母语者来说还是有一点挑战。如果你想说得像，还是要多听，大部分马来人的马来话都很口语化。比如saya一般读sayə，tidak ada一般读takdə等等。马来话是一个很随性很慵懒的语言，学了不止可以沟通，还可以通过马来话体验马来人的一种精神，很酷的😊
我们在学校学习的马来语叫bahasa baku，等于是马来语的正音，是一般电视台主播、广播员的发音要求。

可以给你个建议学马来文要先学马来pinyin 就是事伴功陪，A, E, i, O, U 他的每个句子都加了这几个符号

你可以网上找到马来拼音的读法，读会了就容易才慢慢找意思

马来文不难学。学会 sukukata ，知道怎么发音，就会读。多去 mamak （嘛嘛档），练习用马来文订餐。网上学马来文时，要找马来西亚的马来文。印尼的马来文会有点不一样。
