Resolving the Redmi Note 8 Pro Not Charging Issue: Step by step Guide!!

In today's guide, we tackle a commonly encountered issue with Redmi Note 8 Pro devices: charging problems. My name is Leonardo, and I'll be guiding you through this process.
We start by acknowledging the device's problem: it isn't charging correctly. The disassembly of the device isn't covered in depth here, but multiple tutorials are available on our channel for that purpose.

Once the device is disassembled, we detach the battery connector and remove the charging module, focusing our attention on the charging connector. A close inspection under the microscope reveals evident corrosion signs, pinpointing the likely culprit of our charging issue.
Our next step involves some heat application. We carefully cover the microphone with Kapton tape to protect it, then apply 440ºC and 70% airflow with a heat station to swiftly detach the charging pin. It's crucial to be quick in this process to prevent any potential damage from prolonged heat exposure.
Following the removal of the charging pin, flux application is necessary to clean the area and remove excess solder. Kapton tape and a soldering iron tip at 350ºC help us achieve a flawless solder, paving the way for the new charging connector's installation.
We carefully position the new charging connector and solder its sides initially, followed by the 12 pins of the connector. This is a delicate process, so patience and precision are key to avoid unwanted soldering errors.
During this process, if any trace accidentally joins another, there's no need to worry. It's a fixable issue, easily remedied with Kapton tape.
Once we've successfully soldered all the pins, we reassemble the device. This step concludes the repair, but we need to test if the charging issue has been resolved. A successful repair is confirmed as the Redmi Note 8 Pro now charges correctly.

Well, the connector replacement could be an option, however if you do not own the hot air desoldering station it might be a better option buying the entire connector board for $3.
