- So, I've loved the Cobra F8 Driver since I first tried it a few months back... so decided it was time to just change my Epic and get one!

Got fitted for a Callaway Subzero. Very happy with the process and the on course results. If you have a driver, as you did that didn’t suit you wrt loft, spin and shaft then your are not going to have confidence with it in your hand.

You have work to do on your swing. Inconsistent strikes and swing path are things that you really need to work on. I hope that you have a really go coach.
Strategy is also a key element in scoring. Playing within yourself, finding fairways, greens and making those two putts. I sharp short game will help make more birdies and will give you the best chance to recover when you get out of position.

My membership has started at Howley now but still recovering, hope to be out there soon! Got a feeling I'll be doing a fitting at some point this year! Hope you get on better with this than you did the Epic!

Great insight into a fitting, never been fitted my self literally just put my new to me 2016 m2 up for sale had it 2 weeks beautiful club but i bloody hate it! going back to my GBB 816 alpha. hope you get on with your new driver look forward to seeing it on the course.

i would love to but cant afford new and no one dose fittings on old gear! so its abt trial and error for me! hows the new bat going?
BrettB Golf most decent fitters would do a fitting for you for around £30 and check your gear etc...
might have to look into that, i do need to get my carry distances on my irons set, find out exactly where i am.
I think im selling my Epic driver too. I hit my longest drives ever with it, but the misses are just too big. Got my eye on G400max. Good luck with you!

Very nice mate. I will be interested to see it in play. I am still using my old Callaway 815 as I did not get on with the epic either. My swing speed is similar and I will have to give the Cobra a go.

I don’t think you are holding your finish as much as you otherwise would.
Good that eliminate the 2 way miss. How’s it going for you? Would of been nice to see the lofted up numbers.

Nice Kevin, you should love that driver by the look of those numbers. I know I’ve half mentioned this before, but when I got properly fit for a new shaft in my epic driver it has made the world of difference. The driver went from a club that I didn’t mind hitting to a club I love and just wanted to hit every shot. So I hope this new driver gives you those same feeling once you get used to it😀👍👍
Tried changing shaft... just couldn’t get it back with the Epic 😢
Nice one as usual Kevin. Maybe I missed it, but I was wondering if you were fitted also for the Epic? I’m thinking of getting a driver fitting for the first time, so I was wondering about the longevity of a fitted vs off the shelf driver as our swing keeps evolving. Thanks

It was. Dunno what happened. Swing has changed a bit and just struggled like hell with it the last 6 months

Kevin,Looks like you need to go on a speed swing program. Did not realize your swing was so slow. not even carrying 200 with the driver. Check out My Swing Evolution speed program or something similar. Need to get that driver closer to 100 mph. Good luck mate!
Absolutely- usually average about 95, but I’d done something to my neck and couldn’t generate as much speed. Still need to get more speed though. That is something I’ve looked at tbh... you used one? 👍
Having issues with your neck is no good for speed or freedom to swing with speed. I have had back and hip issues the last 2 years, so I know how it goes. I have not done anyone particular program but I am in the 100+ mph for the driver. I have done some speed training where you use just the driver shaft to work the fast twitch muscles. Brendon from BeBetterGOlf had a good video on speed training routine. Good luck with the new shiny driver.
What shaft is the best for a mid-high trajectory with a mid to heavy weight for the cobra F8?

Kev nice vlog mate but as a watcher i have concerns your coach shorley know its not the driver and he should give you drills to work on. I really hope your new driver works but a driver is a driver and i know how you feel if you dont like the look of it you feel the change. To me a good coach wouldnt let you change but thats my appinion. good luck bud.

Are the cobra clubs good il looking to get a 5 wood
Aaron___ Yes they are very good. I recently changed from a Callaway XR OS 5 wood to a Cobra F7 4-5 wood and absolutely love it. Distance and forgiveness are great, it is adjustable and the rails on the bottom inspire confidence to hit more down on the ball as the rails help with turf interaction which for me stops me topping the ball. Since buying the cobra the 5 wood has gone from being one of my most feared club's to use to now being one of my favourite. I would highly recommend it. I would imagine the F8 5 wood is just as good if you are thinking of getting one of those.

Can you put your finger on what went wrong with the Epic driver, have you changed your swing since you were fitted for it? Just curious as I've never been fit for any club, so it's got me a bit puzzled that you're having such a torrid time with a club that was set up for you.

No... I can’t. Yes, swing has changed quite a bit, but just felt really hard to hit. The golf gods playing games with me!
