    Homework questions
    Question 1 = given data
    G = 2.70, e= 0.5, parallel seepage at a depth = 1.5 , i = 30 ,phi = 35 , slip plane deth to the ground = 4
    Calculate FOS
    Solution: step 1 calculate Yd and Ysat with the formula
    Yd = GYw/(1+e) ,Ysat = ((G+e)/(1+e))Yw
    We get Yd = 17.65 and Ysat = 20.92
    Then calculate FOS = ((Yd*parallel seepage depth(H) + Ysat * (h) - Ywh))/(Yd*H + Ysat*h)(tan phi)/(tan i)
    We get ans FOS = 08354
    Solution 2: data given
    Depth = 5m
    i = 20 , phi = 30 ,Y = 19 kn/m^3
    Calculate Fos
    Use formula Fos= (C + Y*Z tan phi)÷(YZ tan i)
    We get ans Fos= 1.91
    Solution 3: data given
    Phi = 30, C = 0, fos =2 , Ysat = 20.2 kN/m^3 , Yw = 9.81kN/m^3)
    Calculate i
    Solution we use formula
    (Ysub/Ysat) (tan phi/ tan i) = fos
    And we get i = 8.445

    3. Beta= 8.45°
    Other 2 hw also done
    1. Failure occurs 1&2 layers assume depth x and compare s=tau
    2.finite slope fos = c.l.r/W.xbar
