For me personally I thought that Soomin and Chanmi were the only ones that did this song justice because their voices were the only stable ones (with a few but most of their voices were breathy and unstable) but I’m guessing it’s because they have more experience in controlling their voices than the others do

I admire Chanmi's perseverance but her singing is almost always unstable... and when IT IS stable, it's still at the edge of her comfort zone. You can tell by the sound she's producing that she's trying too hard to pull it off.
Soomin on the other hand has shown incredible level of vocal skills and has improved her dancing skills quite a lot... she's more relaxed and her smile is perfect now.
As for the other girls, they're just not ready to debut yet.

Chanmi's skill comes to no surprise I guess. She trained with SM and has experience with being an idol. Plus she was always the only one stably singing even during her co-ed school days. I do understand tho since mbk wasn't doing their shit properly back then and their management was too poor.

Guys!They did great..if u guys listen to WINNER version..The girls that are out of breath literally sang Kim Jinwoo part..Soomin and Chanmi are stable cuz that's Kang Seungyoon part..Kim Jinwoo low note are not suitable for the girls or anyone..Even Mamamoo can't sang perfectly Jinwoo part for empty..The others cover also Jinwoo part is the problem..Kang Seungyoon really make this song suit for Kim Jinwoo..Just enjoy the girls performance..They are still a baby right..

The girls did great its really hard to sing while dancing the entire time.
In this song the low notes are completely within a reasonable range for a standard soprano like all of these girls, them not being able to do anything but whisper it out is due only to poor technique.
If you listen carefully during the chorus you can hear Ryujins voice as a back track. She has an amazing voice.

Facts about this performance:
1) they struggled singing and dancing at the same time exept Lee Soomin and Chanmi who did the best on this ( stable vocals and high notes ) but they didn t get high votes since they don t come from a popular agency
2) Yongchae is very good at dancing ( sorry but she did better than Ryujin !!! ) but people don t like her because of her attitude .
3) Moonhee's voice on this wasn't as good as her Dancing . The part was too low for her ( normal, it's a boys song and tone ) She is such a great dancer tho❤️❤️ i love her smile, energy and brightness on stage
4) people just stan their bias without giving chances to the ones who really stood out from this performance
5) other groups did better than them ( in terms of singing and dancing ) such as bad girl good girl

I think Lee Yongchae is just misunderstood. All the girls seems to like her and get along with her. They picked her first and wanted to steal her for their groups. And she is always the leader in all the groups. She is a way better dancer when it comes to group performances than all the other girls.
I actually like her and don’t mind her outspoken attitude. I like that she’s not the your average trying hard to be cute girl which I don’t know why Korea is so obsessed with this cute thing? I like sexy and bold. Adult women trying to act cute is so cringey.
Having watched the show, she gets along fine with everyone. To be a leader you have to call out the weakest links too when you see they are lacking so they can be motivated and try harder just like what the mentors/judges are doing. They’re all adults, they don’t need to be babied all the damn time.

Compared to PD101, actually I prefer Mixnine system to created this cover groups tho. They split the top 9 first based on their preference and then they will pick their own members while taking turn so it is fair for every group.
The girls will automatically pick the members which fit the song both in concept and voice. They won't pick the ones popular only but the ones fit best.
In PD101, the first groups can pick the best and the most popular members which make the last group to create are leftovers. That was too cruel. This system is the best.

I still don't know how a lot of people still get triggered whenever they say soomin and chanmi saved this performance and didn't add ryujin. I mean don't get me wrong I'll let ryujin step on me anyday but the reason why it's only soomin and chanmi is this:
A lot of kpop performances are mostly judged by netizens in their stability. Yes i do agree that ryujin slayed her rap. But, rap doesn't even take up 50% of the song and you can get by if the raps is just average or mediocre but you can't make netizens shut up if the singing is bad. Take the kara team for example, jieun was immaculate in the performance and her rap was incredible, but that didn't stop the team form getting harsh criticisms because their performance is unstable and not balanced. I mean even now really really team still gets hate for only having two stable singers, imagine if they were all unstable. So yes even as a sucker for ryujin. I do agree that Soomin and Chanmi saved this performance, while Ryujin saved the team
