So awesome you picked this up, exactly the bike I’m looking at. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Checking TH-cam every day hoping you post about. Love Taco Moto!!! ❤
Great video and thank you for sharing. Do you ever have any starting issues from cold. Getting the s model this Tuesday but I heard some stories about starting the bike is a pain???
I'm with you on the linkage. That's the #1 reason I'll always have a hard time getting rid of my 2011 KTM-300xc as it was the last year KTM had pds on it's 250,300xc models. It's do for a top end rebuild but it's still stone reliable! I'm just a shade over 6' tall but at 53 yrs. old i'm having a tough time flat footing my old 300xc so when I purchase a street & trail bike it just may have to be the Husqvarna FE-501s. I've read were they sit a tiny bit lower than the KTM 500exc-f so with a aftermarket low seat + I believe it would be easy to slightly lower the rear shock due to the linkage.
So the w model is missing all of the corked up parts? I am assuming it’s better since it’s all done and just needs street legal cert with all of the parts you’d upgrade anyways?
Hey Mike what do you think about the fact that the fuel pump is located so high in the tank. How we gonna get the fuel from the lower part of the. tank at the bottom. Reduced range?
The map, traction control and quick shifter switch might be available in North America. I was at a KTM dealer in British Columbia yesterday and they had a 2024 500 exc six days there and it had the switch.
No. All KTM/ Husky bikes now use the same 6 speed box, based on the 300 2T transmission. The exception is the 150 and smaller bikes. The new tranny has a first gear between the old XC and XCW, and even spacing all the way up. No big gap between 5th and 6th. The new Pankl built box is excellent: I have it on my 2024 TE 300.
@@Anatoli50 this is the info I’ve been looking for sir! can you please help me figure out if it’s possible to put that transmission in my 2023 500 or just fix-the 5th gear being so close to 4th and too far from 6 issue? What would it take?
KTM also has alu subframe, linkage is easily covered and protected by proper e.g. acerbis skid plate. I prefer linkage better. The reason this bike is all new I went with 2023 FE 2023, don't want to be KTM beta tester LOL Dude, all emission stuff should be taken off.
@@TACOMOTOCO what equipment? what it does have that previous model doesn't? except new, unproven engine of course. anyway I hope it will work good for you.
Blue with sparkles! 😂 I mean, how can one pass up on that?! Waiting on my 24 501S to arrive! If the pump is higher in the tank, then what about the fuel that is below that? Is that fuel even considered usable?
Bummer on the map switch info. Just picked up a 24exc-f 2weeks ago. Dealer called me last week and said the map switch is in. Sounds like I wasted money buying a switch.
Just bought one myself. However…… you really need to pronounce your ride. It kills me to hear you say “Hus (ka) varna. No A bud. Husq varna. If you can just get that tongue twister resolved, we will have happiness within the universe. Lol.😢 safe riding my friend.
For the love of God! It’s not Husq “a” varna! There’s no “a” between the q and v of the word Husqvarna…. Sorry I had too… sweet bike!! Keep up the good work! I really like my FE350.
@@TACOMOTOCOhahah sorry don’t take it personal. After reading what I wrote it came across harshly. My bad… love your channel and everything your doing for the sport!! Thanks for all your insight on the new bikes!!

Lots of content in the works w this machine
BTW I wonder how you can use whole fuel in the tank when fuel pump is located in so awkward place...
Great video and thank you for sharing. Do you ever have any starting issues from cold. Getting the s model this Tuesday but I heard some stories about starting the bike is a pain???
Needs a more cold crank rating battery from what I hear. Dab the start button to prime before full start helps.
So there’s really no difference in the performance of the S and W versions?

Do you think having a single sump for the transmission and motor is a disadvantage longevity wise versus the beta 500 RS having separate oil supplies?

Torque values - love it! Wish these and the KTM equivalent could be plated in Canada.

No quickshifter and map switch kinda sucks. I assume they are still on the dual sport model though??
Race models have it only
behind the headlight there are some wires that have been capped off. Anyidea what they are for?
Ground bus
I'm curious if the subframe can be swapped on a 23 model to the new style.
No
so mike can you plate the off road version in nevada?
With our dual sport kit yes
If not street legal, why keep the oxy sensor, vapor canister, etc? You didn't cover the can tip, spark arrester?
Good point
Let’s do that in an upcoming video

This new tranny is utter perfection in ratio and shift smoothness
Does anyone have a solution to the major fuel pick up issue on these bikes yet?

@TACOMOTOCO Great! I just got my 2024 501s yesterday. Now time for some of that taco hot sauce!
Are these street legal or can they be turned into a street legal bike ?
The W doesn’t have a street legal title
However, if your state allows for conversion of a dirt bike into a street bike then you can seek a plate
