Fan Zhendong is such an excellent player, that it doesn’t matter what style he plays. Defense not offense is safe from his stellar footwork and ball control.
I’m not a ping pong pro, and I’m confused. In moments like 0:28, where the other player is far from the table, waiting for a heavy shot towards him. Every player in this situation (that I’ve watched) keeps constantly hitting it towards the other player who is very far away, why don’t they hit a really soft shot? The other player probably won’t be fast enough and he’ll win the point. I doubt it’s not allowed, so is it actually because of honor/respect? I also doubt that!
It’s allowed but it’s a really hard shot too make and If your not good enough you will for sure give the other player time and opportunity to smash the ball and you lose the point
@@tacobackhand3294 How though? You can just do a soft push or something like that, I doubt it’ll be harder than consistently smashing towards the other player.
@@jbj7799 Yeah you can. But it’s hard and not necessary as long the guy doesn’t get the chance to counterattack. Your alternative is the best if you can do the shoot with very good quality. But as long you win the point it’s not necessary. Fan knew he would win the point either way so he didn’t wanted to take the risk
@@jbj7799 when the ball is coming at such a high speed with a lot of topspin, its very difficult to slow it down, not to mention youd have to place the soft shot very well to make it difficult to smash for the opponent and even then theres a low chance of you winning the point, hence youd rather hit a counter topspin with good placement to increase your chances of outmaneuvering the opponent.
The young lady referee was as beautiful as Fan Zhendong's game to watch😂😍. Sorry friends, I am never bias in official settings but informally I just felt that☺️😉🙏
