love the work. i am rebuilding a 1981 TT250 H at the moment and i am in the process of changing the swingarm and suspension, they are a good old bike to do up. i could not help noticing that you used a XT piston over the high compression TT piston, they go so much better with the later. again i love the work so keep it up :)
Mostly off ebay and overseas. There were a lot of these in NZ back in the day so there should be a few still around. I got a trailer load of these originally, probably five bikes in total and made these two out of all the parts. I built up three motors and sold one of them the other two went into these bikes. Nothing left of them in my shed now sorry :)
So you know what the piston ring clearance is suppose to be. Check half an inch inside the bore with the ring an take piston to push it down. You know what those measurements are ? Been waiting a my manual a few days
I have picked up one of these, engine sounds good at idle and higher rpm, it seems loud when riding it under load, any ideas what is could be, anything you know of? Thanks
Hey, I have a tt250 just like this one! do you know where I might find an idle screw for the carb? It's the only reason I haven't started restoring it.
hey i got the same motor and i just got a question for you I.broke the timing chain and I am.working on replacing it but I forgot to mark where the timing was set where do u set that and how do u get the gear hooked to the cam.back on?
I have a Yamaha 2004 TTR 250 I wanted to know how much would it cost me to rebuild the engine because it's just been sitting in the garage before I send it to a bike shop

Where did you find parts for it
Intake clearance should be between.0020- .0039 inches and the exhaust should be between .0047- .0067 inches.
Do you do restoration work for other people?
If you were kind enough to tell me what measure I use to regulate the rockers
