As a Wisconsinite, this needed way more “ope”
Agreed!! I'm in Michigan, right across the lake from Milwaukee. "Ope" is said several times a day around here, don'tcha know! lmfao :)
Still, thought JLo did a respectable job, being a Puerto Rican from the Bronx!
I’m from Florida and I say it, swear in a past life I was a Wisconsinite.
This is one of the only times that Kate McKinnon didn't nail an accent.
She's crap at lots of accents! Don't get me wrong, she's an absolutely stellar comedian but she can only do a handful of accents and they're all American ones
I more than forguve her when i hear Jennifer Lopez trying her hand at it cringeworthy
So tired of Kate McKinnon. Go away. Launched herself in the SNL limelight by telling everyone she likes broads.
I've lived in Wisconsin my whole 34 year life. No mention of cheese curds, Aaron Rodgers, Brett favre, Culver's, kwik trip or piggly wiggly.
I feel like JLo is channeling Judge Judy in this one.
Their accuracy of Wisconsinites is so ravishing 🤬😲😅
Who else's from WisConsin?!? 👍
My late precious Mother-in-law from Wisconsin had short hair and dressed like them. She took care of wildlife and made the best huckle-berry pie ever. She was an absolute no-nonsense woman. Sweetest soul that ever came out of Wisconsin.
That sounds like my grandma. My whole dad's side of the family is from WI, around lake Winnebago, they're all SO nice; everyone I've ever met there is so nice. Both my grandparents passed but when we went there (I grew up around Philly) I remember doing so much fun outside stuff on the lake and my grandma was a great sturgeon spearer. LOVE WI!!
This is just bad. As a Wisconsinite, they didn’t even pick the food stuff to make fun of and don’t even sound like da girls we got up nort.
I hear your voting to become like Illinois.. lol.. Chicago co-opted Madison/Milwaukee.. and thats all it took
They sound like new yorkers trying to do a midwest accent. Oh wait...
Could of used the long "a" Example: "Put it in the beg" instead of "put in the bag"
@Mr. Steve lived in wisconsin for 20 years, i can tell you that it depends on where you are, but also everyone has at LEAST a slight accent in northern wisco
As someone from Wisconsin, I can say that Cecily's accent was the most accurate.
...But that's really not saying much.
As someone with a lot of relatives in Minnesota and Iowa you're right she does at the best
I'm from Milwaukee and currently live in Madison and nobody I know sounds like that
@@23mimiboo I've known folks from the upper parts of the state who do have a bit of the stereotypical accent. With Cecily, I could at least tell that that's what she was going for. Can't even say that about the others though.
None of these people have ever been to Wisconsin.
You know those SNL sketches where you wait for the punchline, but then you realise there isn't one? That.
JLo sounds more like she's an old man from Philly.
@Taylor Craig Newbold Jenny from WTF? Not good, she’s terrible here, the sketch isn’t any better. 👎🏻👎🏻
That they way my ex neighbor Lynn sounded 15 miles south of Glidden Wisconsin!
This skit needed more cheese, packers and beer and less terrible accents.
Emily Jo cheese curds, Holstein cows, cold weather jokes, Deer trophies and football kitch everywhere.
Yup - 100% accurate - every hardware store comes with and abandoned human here - wardrobe department tip, sprinkle in a little pink real tree camo on the ladies and toss in a snowmobile jacket for good measure - you betcha
These days they wear Maga hats and bark at people who they perceive are liberal (or of color)
Retro flashback: Infamous Commie hunter Senator Joeseph McArthy was a Wisconsinite - Go BADgers !! (GRRRRR !!!) ⛷⛷⛷

I’m from Wisconsin....I’m surprised the girls weren’t running a kwik trip😂
I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and never knew hardware stores and Kwik trips were a midwest thing... maybe I should get out more.
@Agent Fungus who buys KT sandwiches?!, do you not have a brain or were you not using it?Never buy KT sandwiches...go for an apple and some veggies...those get brought in fresh everyday
I hated that the owners donated to Walker but the employees didn't so I don't boycott Kwik Trip. I like the sandwiches except the bizarre meat that is the hamburger. Their pizza is good.
I feel like none of the people on this show have ever been to Wisconsin. Farley would be pissed.
As someone from from Wisconsin I’ve never herd someone ever talk like.
I’m from Wisconsin and still live in Wisconsin and this is a bad representation of Wisconsin. They could’ve at least tried
I have lived in Wisconsin for 14 years. I agree it is a poor representation of our state.
I hear your voting to become like Illinois.. lol.. Chicago co-opted Madison/Milwaukee.. and thats all it took
It’s kind of cool to see how Wisconsin looks when you refract it through imaginations of people who haven’t left manhattan in decades
At least you don't live in Tennessee. We get it the worst. I know there are people that fit the stereotypes, but it gets old seeing it over and over.
It's the same exact thing with the south when portrayed by the same exact people lol
@@johntate4638 THANK YOU! and what's worse, that percentage of people that actually do fit those stereotypes are very small.
It’s funny though. But I understand. Can’t tell you how Maine stereotypes are and it’s not even close. And the southern stereotypes are old
“She’s nobody’s daughter... she came with the hardware store” LOL
As a lifetime Wisconsin resident I had high hopes for this skit. I was let down.
I want that time back SNL. What the hell. Watch Charlie Behren for Wisconsin humor. Keep ‘er mov’in.
Yeeep . But he can't consider himself a Midwesterner that's Oklahoma , Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska Ohio.
@@ah5721 So...what are Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota considered then?
JLo sounds like she is doing a Ditka impression. They shoulda asked Charlie Berens to help them with the accent.
Cecily’s got the accent. The other two not so much
@ryan boughton The show's lines overall haven't been good for a long time. I feel like Cecily could be a versatile actress - comedy, drama, satire, etc.
As a person from this state, I have never met one single person who spoke like that.
Been to Wisconsin many times...beautiful state...friendly people. And they are very happy to listen when I complain about the bears we have in my home town.... the Chicago Bears
This left me with so many questions but I think mostly just: why didn't somebody stop this?
I’m from Wisconsin. Where was the “Ooooo” and “da packers”
We don’t mind being made fun of either. Just do it right, SNL! Hell, we’ll write it for ya!
As someone from Wisconsin, this sketch confused me because it had nothing to do with Wisconsin or the Midwest in general.
They didn’t even talk about beer or cheese! Like what?! What bothers me the most is they didn’t even say ope or ranch once!
That's what happens when it's written by people who think Jersey is "out west somewhere".
SNL isn’t made for you hillbillys.
It’s made for East and West Coast liberal socialists.
There were some attempts at some Wisconsin accents
Lived in Wisconsin, and I’ve never heard whatever accent they’re trying to do.
Has anyone involved in this sketch ever even met someone from Wisconsin?
This is the worst Midwestern accent I have heard. Terrible.
To be fair when most people think Midwest accent they think the "Iowa" or eastern Nebraska accent - Johnny Carson/Tom Brokaw. I'm a 50 year Iowan and know that even different parts of Iowa have different accents. Iowa Falls is way different than Corning, and Wisconsin is WAY different than Missouri. These accents were..... I have no idea, this just didn't make sense. Were these women supposed to be pissed off? My dad has lived in Wisc. since 87 and people don't talk like that there.
I’ve lived in Wisconsin my entire life and this is about 30% accurate. Wisconsin finally got a chance and they blew it😔
Their accents aren’t even close for being Wisconsin, they watched too much Fargo.
I lived in Fargo for many years. They sound nothing like North Dakotan. They sound like they're trying hard not to insult the Upper Midwest and failing hard.
When we say "diff" it is always inquisitive and usually never observational.
What kind of accents were those? They certainly weren't Wisconsin accents.
I never met anyone like this in Wisconsin. Maybe Montana.
When Charlie Berens' Manitowoc Minute can do circles around an SNL sketch.
Well it’s pretty easy when Charlie is actually funny and SNL needs to bring back Sandler, Chapelle, and Murphy just to cling to any relevancy
I’m from Wisco, and thankfully, this is not an accent I’m used to😂
I’m from the Midwest and it’s funny how everyone thinks we talk like Canadians lol tractor supply though! Soooo true!
Paige 1996 accents are so different up here. I can pick out a Wisconsin accent pretty fast. They’re more nasally. It’s my dad’s home state so I spent a lot of time there as a kid when my grandparents were still alive. Wisconsin is definitely like my second home ❤️
As a born and bred Wisco Boy this a poor representation of Wisconsin people.
Says someone who typed what I can only assume is supposed to be "y'all"...
Stephen Blanck I mean, you hear it in the northwoods by the Minnesota border. The problem was, the accents in this skit were all over the place.
Ok I live in Wisconsin this was a fail...🤦♀️ who came up with this crap!!
When you think a sketch is funny on paper and it WAS in rehearsal, and then THIS happens.
Girl in the Striped Sweater I agree, this Show hasn’t been funny since Eddie Murphy and prior (Belushi, Radner, Chevy Chase). I thought Murphy was hosting. What a disappointment.
@@miamonee1 It has some moments with certain guests and a few single cast members, this was definitely not one of those moments and it was not a good guest appearance

As a Michigander, all I can say is: “Yeahhh, no.”
Yeah, their perception of rural america is a little... off. To say the least.
@@lput00 Not even offensive, it's so far off the mark. It would be like trying to suggest in a racist fashion that black people like grapefruit and turkey excessively, you'll just get odd looks. Like, we get you were trying to mock them in a derogatory way, but wha?
@@jadedandbitter This was likely written by writers who've never really ventured far beyond major cities. The closest thing to "country" folk they've encountered is some hipsters at the city farmer's market. Or they're just exaggerating for comedic effect.
I'm from Minnesota, but I know this representation of my neighbors is inaccurate af. Just..NO
I clicked on this because I thought it was going to be funny. I'm embarrassed for them.
I live in Central Wisconsin and none of these sounded right.
Im also from Wisconsin and really didnt like it at all. Accent wrong, no packer gear, shall i go on lol
this comment section is more hilarious than the entire sketch. extra clever on the clapbacks.
Gees, the writing for that show has sure gone downhill.
She is nobody's daughter, she came with the store!!🤣
I don't know what they were thinking with this sketch. Didn't laugh once.
Robert Silverman The citidiots thing was funny and the bear shaking around the fake bear was funny but the Heidi, Jlo, and Alex had no reason to be in it
The bear shaking the dummy was pretty funny... but the citiot thing seems like a real life annoyance. I couldn't laugh.
R. DaNell I mean that's the whole point of snl, making fun of things are too crazy to be true or things that are real life occurrences
None of them have the accent remotely close.
Cecily came closest to getting the impression right but that’s because she’s a a FIB
Didn’t even crack a smile. This was literally the most simple minded sketch I’ve ever seen.
And stupid. And so insulting to people from Wisconsin. Disgusting. I never saw any people like this, ever!
Unsure what anything in this skit has to do with Wisconsin, or comedy.
@@DUSTYBASS If it had actually been about Wisconsin it would have been funny.
The couple coming into the store are probably fibs 😂

@@aliciabell6688 Yes, unkind, but it's a reaction to the elevation of their noses. They are Midwestern Parisian equivalents. So, instead of shooting them, we say snotty things behind our hands.

...lmao. "she's nobody's daughter, she came with the hardware store." 😂😂😂
Wisconsinites can take a joke, but first you have to make one.
HAHAHAHA! Yeah. That was stupid. And who the heck would just stand and watch someone getting attacked by a bear? The accents were horrible, but watchagonna do?
They didn't get anything right....not a thing. ?..woman with men voices and standing like a man, the bear thing, the cloths...not sure who came up with this one. Now, if they would have said " hey" allot.
Sometimes SNL has sketches that dont make sense but theyre still funny. This wasnt one of them. This was just dumb.
Agreed. I adore Saturday Night Live! But this sketch falls far short of good. I'm not angry, I'm not offended. I just think this sketch brings together poor writing, poor acting, and poor attempts at accents, all in an effort to make fun of stereotypes. Poorly executed. I'm surprised it wasn't cut for time.

@jo gr born and raised here and I’m super Wisconsin and this is just embarrassing 🤣
Kyle should’ve been in this so it could’ve got cut for time 😒
They should have gone to Charlie Berens to get the accent down.

Jay Caldwell hey UW Madison is a great school that many try to get into/attend 🤷🏼♀️
they really be cutting all of Kyle's sketches and airing this mess. I mean what was the storyline here? or the punchline? or the joke? I was just confused.
Born and raised in Wisconsin.... never met a single person who talks like that... Honestly sounds more like how an American impersonates a Canadian accent.
EXACTLY!! I’m from the Midwest but Indiana not Wisconsin and idk why people always think we talk like Canadians
You must not be from best country Glidden is the black bear capital of the world and this is right on!
Jennifer can’t hide her NY accent even if you paid her to...

Oh my gosh. Absolutely terrible. Not WI at ALL.

There was no mention of beer, brats, cheese curds, packers, Brett Favre and aaron Rodgers, and Jeffrey dahmer or ed gein. The only thing that got sort of right were the clothes and hair cuts. I'm still proud to be a Wisconsinite and wish they would get someone to teach them the proper way
esp.Ed Gein part i mean his victim was also a woman runnin' a hardware store
As a Minnesotan, Cecily clearly had the best Midwest Accent.
It's funny. My mom is from Michigan, she raised me in Missouri. I've always thought of that as a Northern accent, bc us lower Midwesterners don't have it.
As someone from the middle of nowhere Wisconsin there is no accuracy. Just seemed like lesbian stereotypes with a little bit of native american shaming with that hair bit
I don't think the hair had anything to do with native americans. Seemed more like a scary movie jab.
Cecily's elastic waistband made the whole sketch.
This needed more, "Oh yeah" and "right there, then." Also when doing any Northern Midwest accent, it's important to draw out any 'o' and 'a' sounds.
Brady Freiderich oooew yaw, Days need to go to a gamer two before they catch a wisCONsin nasal broad o, doncha know.

That's a really good point....but probably true about most all the poorly-written garbage snl has regressed to. They're determined to hate certain politicians, so that prejudice erases any intelligent humor or insight.

Deirdre Curran I like the premise, it made me chuckle initially but it just went nowhere. For instance, the idea that the girl cane with the shop was funny to me but they didn’t do anything interesting with her.

J-Lo looking like this is why I will never, ever, ever cut my hair short.
That was barely even an attempt at a Wisconsin accent
