Agreed! Politicians are too busy talking about entitlements are killing the budget, However, they never talk about how the military budget has no effect on the federal budget. Last I checked, social security and Medicare have in flows of dedicated cash while the military budget has no direct line item where cash comes from in the budget. Interesting how that so conveniently works the way they spin it.

The thing that happens is yes we got a three point whatever percent increase last year but my Medicare part B payment also went up by $60 a month more than my cola so I actually took a $60 a month cut. It’s unfortunate how Medicare costs can sometimes offset Social Security increases, making it feel like a setback. Nobody cares about the senior citizens who have already worked for their benefits and their country or for the disabled who have done the same . Everyone talks about how they are going to help the middle class and the rich from paying more taxes and getting more back while those of us on living month to month on SSI or SSDI get a whole $20-25 a year COLA increase!! It is not fair that nobody gives a damn about us and we make up a very large amount of voters these days.
That low $20-25 COLA increase doesn't even cover the increase of what we have to pay in medical insurance, groceries, housing costs, my rent increases by more than double that every year so how does that help??
These politicians are so worried about the middle class, the people with kids, the rich, and business owners, but nobody cares about the disabled who can't work or the elderly who have already worked their whole life, or the veterans or the homeless.

2.5% is a slap in the face, with all this inflation it should be at least 12.5%. These last three and a half years or so my rent went up another $100 a month my car insurance went from $75 a month to $107 a month full coverage and along with food and gas it's hard to survive

2.5%??? When inflation is 25% that's rediculous. How many of you looked at your social security last nov or dec for a June July application for an oct retirement.? When we looked we saw a number and when we applied in July it was 300$ lower. Social security says it was an estimate 😆 they are something else

Very insulting after working 50yrs everyone write your senators and house representatives and tell them this is unacceptable. How about the fact they also lowered the checks as of jan 1 2024 for anyone not collecting yet 😢
I liked at my husband's in December for an oct 1st retirement and when I went back on in July to apply it was 300$ less yup. Pretty sick to have the social security people tell you or was an estimate??? In December??? For October . They are all a bunch of liars

The simple answer is to VOTE WISELY. One party wants to raise your taxes to astronomical heights. That same party wants to undermine business investments and you may not agree, but without business investment, everyone suffers.

We still have not matched the inflation of 2020 yet. And illegals are averaging a thousand dollars a month more than seniors. And illegals are taking subsidized housing away from seniors. This year I received a $32 COLA and lost $20 in food stamps. what will they take from me in January.
