    The price is exorbitant without counting the costs of taxes, customs etc., you need to sell millions of printed circuits to recover the investment, in China there are very cheap machines with excellent finishes, it can even be done at a much lower cost. The quality mostly depends on the user as they have the parameters and above all patience to work. Thanks for the video, it's entertaining.

      I think that by professional he meant the quality of pcb's and not the aim to generate profit from manufacturing them.

    • @siddharthmalani
      @siddharthmalani 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The aim is to do some very rapid prototyping. You could test that design the same day. It may not count to much but if you were to average 10 units of finished product the following year per day priced at say 100 dollars then effectively it has cost you nothing. It could take upto 6-10 days to get a pcb where I live. If there are couple of iterations then this extends to a month.

  • @icequark1568

    I have cheap CNC 3018 from China, what i've upgrated greatly (endstops, new spindle, new rails etc.). With using spiral mills (like on video) with angle 10 degrees and 0.1mm tip... thats pretty hard to dont destroy this tip. What mills are you using? It looks like pretty big tip in comparision to mine. Now i understand im using too thin ones.

    Although I'm very impressed, £2,999 (excluding vat) seems a bit steep for a "at home" milling machine. This would be ideal for someone that's constantly making them, for a small business I would say. The finish and method does look damn impressive though.

    • @neplatnyudaj110
      @neplatnyudaj110 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Small business would get them etched, drilled, masked and tinned for $5 a piece at local PCB shop or for $1 a piece from china. The only reason to use this is when you already have a CNC and want to try to do a few boards.

    • @cucumberworks
      @cucumberworks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to prototype fast and run a few iterations a day then you have to go this way. This is the 3D printing equivalent of PCB making. For the final product it would make more sense to order from someone else.

      Mostly you don't find answer for those questions you now even asking than going alone and setting it up by yourself by testing and errors learning.. i mean asking for cutting depth is so... what thickness boards you gonna use? It so much depending many things you can't just multiply what other one is using. CNC settings are for your own setup you need tweak yourself always.

I've seen some of your videos, and it seems that you're using Sprint Layout 6, but I wasn't able to export to a "vector" format. Also, if in any case you use KiCad or something similar, I pose the same question about the export. Thanks!

    I wonder if you make a stencil of the traces and then cover the traces with wax and then do the solder mask if that will alleviate the need for trying to remove the mask with another process that could damage the part easily. The wax can easily be removed after the solder mask is cured and should not adhere to it.
