I accepted not fitting in at an early age, but that doesn't make it less difficult to simply be "you", the odd man out. This comes at a price, and only the true INFJ is willing to buy the ticket and take the ride. It is not for the faint of heart because no INFJ is faint of heart. The heart is who we are, and the heart will be true no matter what the crowd says. Happy Hollidays!!!

We INFJs never fit in, and yet we can easily make it look on the outside that we do fit in. Because of our extroverted introvert nature we can sometimes be confused for an ENFJ but we are whom we are. We don't fit is because of our true inner selves, which some of us have already met and others need to learn to dive to meet them. Our inner selves wait for us under the surface. Once we dive into our reflections, we meet them. My inner self just so happens to have a pet Wolf, and they are both amazing.

Me personally, I'd say being more emotional, creative, into exploring the future and inner personal growth. Patience, love, ingenuity, lessons etc vs just more visible achievements.

I can't help but think when people say "be more confident, it's attractive" they really are saying "be more extroverted, it's attractive"
    More Reasons for me
    - I get drained very quickly at social gatherings. I want to be friendly with everyone but gatherings drain me so fast.
    - I'm terrible at small talk. This is the bread and butter of casual social gatherings. Small talk is like everyone's talking about rugby. I have no clue how it's played, so I have nothing to offer to the conversation. Same thing with small talk. It is so alien to me, I just go quiet.
    - I'm future focused, whereas most people want to talk about the present or past
    - My Ni gives me unconventional ideas and thoughts that most people find odd simply because they are original but challenge the norm

so true. Another one I've heard is "You're so QUIET " when the incinuation is obviously not a compliment. It's Like "ok , you're such a loudmouth aren't you ?" HA !

Personally, I'm that kind of INFJ who wants everyone to be better, so I guess I push them. People seem grateful, they appreciate me, but I always find out that they hang out and never invite me, that they have fun when I'm not around, it's like I make everything more serious...

I know the feeling, Laura. Thanks for sharing your perspective on this in the comments.

    Hey,
Just an added comment. I just finished the Beyond Rare INFJ book and it is excellent. It is a very complex book and takes some time to read but well worth it. I think you can find it at Personality Junkies. Must read for INFJs. I'm 64 and been through about 5 or 6 different lives in one. It's hard to explain. Having a psych degree helps as well...lol. Peace bro and all.

Hello Johhny , as you said the shielding of our authenticity is incredibly important - and most often it happens that our authentic self does not belong, it stands apart while longing for something unnamed. This "unnamed" is also "alien" to this human world in which we have come to live. Determining and naming the source of this longing should be (in addition to our organic idealism) the life mission of every INFJ. Additionally, I could say from myself that we will not fit in with the majority due to the fact' that we are characters who are constantly "on the road" so to speak. With a rapidly depleting social battery coupled with an almost compulsive need to help our dear ones, we are, after all, in constant "movement from - to", aren't we? After all, it's hard to belong to a world where people in order to feel "at home" build homes, when our only real "home" is our mind. Warm greetings to you, Johnny, and to all our sisters and brothers.

The only place we feel at home is in our mind. I love that. Happy Holidays

Kinda a heavy topic. .. Love your boldness and insight. If the sensors could quit being so status quo we'd all be a lot better off ! Just kidding - it "takes all kinds to make the world go 'round !

no sensors never “go out of their way” or trying to be compassionate they are tools to be used for their services
