Love Vertx. Would’ve been great to hear more from the actual rep vs BDU bulldozing every sentence.

Will an 11.5 AR with no law folder fit in the commuter xl 2.0 ?

I have the gamut 2.0 and personally I feel like the gamut is more usable for EDC firearms.

*ATTN Vertx:* If I may, I'd like to reiterate my previous request.
When designing this new dual strap back pack, please keep in mind the term *_"Purpose-Driven"._* Throughout the entire R&D process you should be focusing on "purpose-driven" concepts.
Again, this means omitting the inclusion of any computer or tablet pockets. Focus on just the essential Tier One gear using the minimalist approach.
    • Firearm(s)
    • Spare Magazine(s)
    • Trauma / IFAK / Blow Out Kit (whichever vernacular you so choose)
These are your top three essentials that should _always_ be addressed first. Everything else that you carry is simply a luxury.
The inclusion of a water bladder compartment is debatable. Since I live in Arizona, water is _always_ a necessity. However, I have never used a water bladder in my pack and I've been carrying an EDC bag since 2002. All the people in my 2A circle have echoed the same sentiment. We always have our preferred water bottle (usually a 48oz Nalgene) with some sort of dual-wall style of canteen on the side of our packs to top off our primary hydration apparatus. I use the prescribed water bladder compartment for my Premier Armor Insert which is what most of us use it for anyway. This just means that having one or more external water bottle holders with elastic keepers is a required addition.
Next on the agenda, may I request that you experiment with proper weight distribution throughout the pack?
For instance, my current EDC Ready Pack 2.0 is entirely front heavy because I use the outermost pocket to keep three standard capacity 30rd mags for 'Betty'. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention last time that 'Betty' is short for "Betty Blackout" my 7" .300 Blackout PDW. The problem arises when she's folded up and resting comfortably inside the main compartment.
The addition of the LAW folder added a significant amount of weight to the rear of the PDW. Since I store her muzzle down in the bag, it essentially makes the bag top heavy. Then combine that with the three standard capacity mags in the front pocket and you have all the weight leaning on the face of the backpack. No matter how spectacular I was a Tetris, I still cannot get the bag to sit up-right when fully loaded which is incredibly annoying to say the least.
Following up with the placement of your firearm. Please consider some extremely heavy-duty padding where your muzzle would be resting in/near the bottom of the pack. Also consider extending that padding to the rear of the pack where you will surely feel that aftermarket charging handle digging into your back. I speak from experience my friends.
Lastly, please reinforce the grab handle pocket (for lack of a better term) to accommodate the increase in weight. I'm not talking about the grab _handle_ on the very top to be clear. I'm referring to that lip of sorts that spans the front of the bag or what I like to call the "Pocket Pull".
In the compartment I designated the "Pocket Pull" is where I keep my IFAK. You cleverly designed the pack so that when you grab that pocket and pull down, it opens the respective compartment with all the exposed hook & loop/molle webbing. Like I said, this is where I keep my trauma kit because it doesn't require any finite dexterity to access. Simply grab the pocket and pull hard in an out/downward direction. My NAR IPOK always pops right out when practicing this scenario.
Thank you again for taking the time to read another Shackleford Short Story/requisition. I'll be sure to update this as time goes on and/or as I start to remember everything.
    Stay classy my friends.
PS - I'd be happy to correspond with you [Vertx or Denny Bogard] via email, phone or what not. It's hard to convey proper ideas over such a public forum. Plus I don't want any competitors to capitalize on these upgrades. Either way, I'm grateful that you are listening to your consumers. ~Keep up the good work my friends.

Is the bags heat resistant? Would the heated muzzle melt the material if I shot a few hundred rounds at the range and stuck the rifle in the bag to go home?

Been using the Ready Pack 2.0 for a while now, great backpack. I love the tactigami concept. I added a molle admin pouch to the first inner compartment. Something you forgot to mention is the webbing on the shoulder straps...I have a carabiner, a flashlight, a compass and hand sanitizer connected on the outside there. Very handy.

Can anyone comment if carrying in a backpack is considered concealed if stopped? I mean what's the difference in a carry case or backpack and why would it be a issue?

What is the "Maximum Length" of a Firearm that can be stuffed into the bag "Vertx Overlander/Theatre XL" and still close the zipper securely and easily?

They have a belt style velcro piece for sale as an accessory. Designed for anything with loop attachments. Also you can literally just loop some industrial velcro and boom itll hold.
