I have both versions and the only differences that I saw were: Text is now blocked to one side of the location board on a black background. Screen printed Meeples Revised edition comes with only 4 special assistants Player boards are single sided and special assistant rules are cards now instead of player boards The main goals area is no longer a fold out board but now four boards that you set out (same size as the other locations) The box size is smaller and I found I was unable to fit both the base game and expansion into one box without either lid lift or tossing the insert. However if you buy the new expansion than you’re going to get the rest of the original special assistants plus the four you get in the base game (now have duplicates of 4 of them) and three completely new assistants.
We have (& love) the original. Based on everything you showed & what you said about various locations, the revised edition is *exactly* the same as the original and plays exactly the same, the only differences being the revised meeples are screenprinted & there's only 1 reference sheet🙄 In our version all players get a big page reference to the shops. I'm stunned they didn't use larger print for the revised edition shops since that was the only thing that needed fixing🤷♀️ I can't say for certain that there's no changes to shops or cards without a side-by-side comparison, but really this appears to be a reprint, not revised, unless you count making the workers spiffier😆
The old Ex Libris looks very similar, sans the new characters. There's a good amount of blocking without being completely blocked from worthwhile actions. There's also a strong need to track what other players are doing, if you want to do well. Add the variability of abilities and scoring, and this is a solid classic. I like the titles, too.
The font still looks too small and difficult to see. I believe the original also had more unique characters, and I personally like the old non-screened gnomes a lot better. I do like the new price point. :)
The font size is larger in the revised edition! 🙂 These legibility improvements were also made: - Moved the text off of the illustration to a dedicated text box area for improved legibility. - Added a "summary" of each location at the top of this text box, for a quick glance understanding of the text below.

They added some asymmetry in some of the meeples!
@FostertheMeeple The special meeples in the original game have asymmetric powers, too!

They didn’t increase the font size on the locations?!? That’s crazy
I can’t confirm or deny. I haven’t played the OG
