Jay Shivling! According to yog, brahma (absolute) is both personal (sagun) and impersonal (nirgun). In the doctrine of shivadvait (not to be confused with vishishtshivadvait which is a different teaching) it is Shiv who is brahma. Thus the ultimate reality contains both. In other words - if direct experience is important then Shiva/Shakti tantra is best path. If philosophical, mental, conceptual, inference oriented then Advaita Vedanta is best.
Yes, this is the best explanation. I don't know much about shaivas. Shaivas has 3 categories pashupathas, lingayats and veerashaivas. In that pashupathas are the apaurusheya. They enlighten themselves as SHIVOHAM extremely soon by the spiritual path. But Vishnu devotees Vaishnavas majorly don't agree it because of their self-ego hidden inside them without their own knowledge. Yes there are vaishnavas who believe advaita but very rare ( 1 in a thousand). So, whether you are a shaiva or a vaishnava, go towards enlightenment. Follow shankara bhagavath padha's sayings and swami vivekananda ji's sayings. U see no God is waiting for you in sky for ur prayers, god is within you ( SHIVOHAM). But you have to realize it...... How?? See u are a person, ur mind's reflection gets in a mirror, but ur mirror is full with dust and dirt (ego, hatred, lust, anger etc:), by jnana ( enlightenment) you'll be able to remove that very soon. That's what Parameshwara in his avesha avatar shankaraachaarya said,... 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘆𝗮𝗸 𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗔𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗵 𝘀𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗵 𝗔𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗷𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗼’𝘀𝗺𝘆𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗺--𝟮𝟭 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧- 𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘢.
I myself prefer Advaita Vedanta and pray to devas and devis. all the stotrams are weitten by Adi Sankaracharya. Advaita vedanta is what defines me and is necessary if you want to know the 'why' in hinduism. For example, Advaita Vedanta teaches us to be non sectarian and know that we are brahman by meditating on any devata or devi. Tat tvam Asi. Note : This csn be said for all philosophies like dvaita vedanta or Vishishtadvaitam. I love Vedanta and saiva siddhanta. Philosophies are what defines a hindu and everyne should follow a philosophy no matter who they are. Everyone should learn a philosophy so that we can present a good view to other people. Philosophy is VERY IMPORTANT FOR ALL hindus
sir adi shankaracharya himself has suggested worship shivaling when one of his student ask that how can we worship Brahman . so the Brahman everyone is talking about is non other then formless Shiva. but in that period their was great fight between Vishnu bhaktas and Shiva bhaktas therefore he name that formless Shiva as brahman
Neither is "better." If one suits you, delve. If it doesn't, don't. There are as many paths to liberation, as there are seekers. Or, as J. Krishnamurti said, "Truth is a pathless land"
Mr Lakhani's personal preference for impersonal advaita seemed to come through in most of his videos. This not a critique but an observation. He played a fine role for dharma. Shraddhanjali.
I seriously disagree with you Sir Late Mr Jay Lakhani Advaita Vedanta is not just last word of indian intellectualism , there are many intellectual Shaiva schools like Kashmir Shaivism , Shakti Vishisthadvaita Vedanta emerged in indian subcontinent which talks of highest Philosophy of Aatma and Shiva consciousness Shaivism is a way to experience Tattvas rather than just mere belief in sky god like its in Vaishnavism and Abrahmic religions
Original things are all came from the original person which named shiva in Egypt atum even later abrahamic religions and even abraham had original source of that knowledge which was his own grandparent nuh alayhi salam
Sir i wanted to ask .. it's story that when buddha become enlightened ..Shiva Vishnu and bhrama came to.his feat and ask him to speak the ultimate truth Cuz ..all three devtas are outer face of ultimate reality ..not inner core . Inner core is one ..or bhraman ..of Advaita ..while three of them are personality to work in world .. .. So is the ..bhraman same which Buddha realised ..which makes buddha beyond Tri murti ? .. Someone who reached Nirvana , bhrama Gyan or .. ultimate truth ..is higher than who reached Vaikuntha or kailash ! Cuz ..he is still in duality .. .. So ..i wanted to ask ..are bhrama Vishnu and Shiva not the ultimate in themselves ??..is it written in Hinduism?
It was the only philosophy which defeated all the prevailing Indic philosophies of its time (which were largely atheistic). Even after the dawn of theistic and Vaishnava philosophies such as Dvaita, Vishishtadvaita, Achintya Bhedabheda, Dvaitadvaita etc. it still replied fittingly and managed to defeat their arguments very easily. It has been undefeated both pre-Vaishnavism and post-Vaishnavism.

Your videos are always so intriguing and knowledge inspiring! Do you think you could do a video on the lokas explained in Hindu texts?

Check out Kashmiri Shaivism - you’ll find both
Of course,100%
What if you’re okay with either!? Sometimes I think about Shiva, sometimes I think Advaita..
sir adi shankaracharya himself has suggested worship shivaling when one of his student ask that how can we worship Brahman . so the Brahman everyone is talking about is non other then formless Shiva. but in that period their was great fight between Vishnu bhaktas and Shiva bhaktas therefore he name that formless Shiva as brahman
advaita states shiva and vishnu are aspects of brahman
meaning they are the same being
please make longer videos

Perfect..!!
I am a Shaivite and I follow Vishishtadvaita.
Veershaivism is best for shaivas

no trimurti are aspects of brahman
tho buddha realized Brahman he did so using raja yoga not bhakti yoga
Both are complementary. Advaita without devotion to any personal God is very dry and not sustainable.
How does one pic which personal God to be devoted to?

Advaita philosophy was challenged by many great scholars for many years.....
It's not logical at alll
It was challenged for many years and has overcome and stood the test of its time... Its perfectly logical. The most logical.
Learning a Vedanta is essential, philosophy is what defines a Hindu
advaita was challenged always because it os so logical that a normal mind can't hold on
It was the only philosophy which defeated all the prevailing Indic philosophies of its time (which were largely atheistic). It's the Highest pinnacle of sanatan philosophy or yoga
After some awakening you would actually see the meaning of advaita clearly
