Butch Hartman introducing his kickstarter: "It seems today that all ya see, is violence in movies and sex on TV. But where are those good old fashioned values, on which we used to rely?"

Foxotic (your comment is funny, I just want to correct your information to make it funnier, I'm sorry if I offended you) the show finished, it wasn't cancelled. It even reran for a very long time before it stopped
It is a very complicated story. I wasn't allowed to watch most of the Nickelodeon programing, excluding Nick Jr, as a small child for various reasons. I think my parents excuse for why I could not watch "Fairy Odd Parents" was because it has magic in it. Ironically it appears now that Butch is trying to pander to the same audience that disapproved of his shows. P.S. Now, that I am an adult I have tried to watch some of the kids shows that I wasn't allowed to as a kid. Most of them seem pretty stupid or dated to me now. However, I assume it is because I have no nostalgia for them.
So, he made this whole disaster of a kickstarter. Then he started yelling about "You can't criticize me if you're not an artist! I created your childhood!" Then he jokingly blamed Tara Strong for another voice actress's suicide, to her face. He is spiralling really fucking fast.
Yeah, I can't understand how could he believe his audience would just jump inside the wagon and forget about *all the other services that already have been doing this*
Considering how "hip" and funny the shows he created were when they came out its hard to believe he's trying to be a protective church dad to the internet
I know it's been two entire years and it's dumb to reply lol: but he made the concepts for the shows, he didn't actually write for them. When he DID write for them, he wrote what fans agreed were "the worst episodes".
@@CeaselessEnemy not only that, because Butch does art, people assume his art is the art from the show. BUT the artist that worked on Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, and Tuff Puppy are a different artist as well. I'm not sure how and if butch HELPED with the art but the finishing artists are what did most of the work. the sharp pointy lines are super iconic and i've only seen people talk about the artist recently from all this drama.

You must be a democrat. You’re “also butch” is filled with stuff that is probably 5% true, and some with absolutely no correlation to the show. Love the delusion you show off
Why couldn't he just do a network specifically for indie animation. His a successful animator that could help so many young animators find a place to start and share their creations. This would have helped more then another regular "family friendly" network, which people already have.
There was that Noog Network app which I think was a prototype for something like that. But I think it's kind of dead since he doesn't mention it anymore at the end of his videos like he used to. Probably the biggest blow to that app was that you had to pay to download it. It deterred me away from checking it out as I'm sure the same can be said for a bunch of others.
Moonlight150 Would have been good if it had some sort of way to watch stuff even without having to waste so much (Maybe some sort of subscription like on Netflix and call it a day) liked the shows on there but welp
If i had the money Butch had, i would have sure as hell been well on my way to getting this accomplished and started small. Wouldve taken business classes and ect to get something like that done, even if it was just shorts. People want to see original GOOD content and indie is great for opening that up. it would have easily gotten new content continuously rather than doing this entire kickstarter that tries to cater to too much at one time. -
@GummyFish That's how Wanda and Cosmo's son Poof was born. Apparently fairies in that show have some kind of seahorse thing going on, but the M-preg aspect was kind of icky to think about. Played for comedy, of course.
It's not about the concept of the show's story, it's about what images are being shown to the viewer. If you had a brain, you'd realize that Butch's shows are in the child-friendly category, as there's no gore, intense violence, or sex scenes, which is the main point for his video service.
I have no problem with him attempting to make a somewhat conservative family friendly app/company. However, that quote by Butch does sound pretty egotistical and slightly creepy.
I was thinking about that part too. I mean, by the time I was his age, I'd seen probably a thousand B and V holes. I bet kids nowadays hit that mark at about 8.
I caught my nephew fapping to Danny Phantom porn. *There’s nothing wrong with Danny Phantom, only the porn that’s made of it, like c’mon, of all the shit you fap to, you can’t even fap to real people? Hey, at least it’s not anime I guess.*
Kowalakun X3 When it didn't quite work, his folks they just quit, But then Charlie took a look inside of it, There was a great big flash, everything just changed, His moistness got all rearranged!
Trying to filter it automatically is just begging for people to try to put something through it that is not family friendly. And find away around it, which shouldnt be incredibly hard
People do that to every platform. And it's good that they do. It helps force the point that relying on machines is extra ironic when you're talking about raising your children correctly. You hand your kid a box to babysit them and then gripe that it gave them ideas that you don't approve of. That's your fault and you shouldn't be able to get away with it. Your kids are *your* responsibility, no one else's.
So Butch says his streaming platform will be a safe place where kids won't be exposed to the negative influences of the internet... And then creates a service with a user upload function... Which inherently creates the risk of someone posting the negative content found on the internet...
Lmao he didn’t inform backers that it was going to be a Christian platform. The comments are now spammed with “I would like a refund for $X as I no longer support this”. And now asking 50m for first stage haha.
This makes me really glad my parents - both relatively conservative Christians - never bought into the “Pureflix” or family-friendly media thing. I watched PBS alongside classic movies and adult-shows in the vein of CSI as a kid and was a devout horror novel fan since elementary school, and I grew up fine.
Im glad that my mom, even though Christian, let me become an Atheist, did not try to purify me and actually likes the fact that I enjoy adult humour more than this stupid pg 13 shit. I remember like when I was 11 I gone to YT kids, and left the instant. It was garbage. People need to realize that kids are humans, and have taste, dont like content that a 5 year old maybe would've liked and that kids do in fact grow up.
Can everything stop trying to be family friendly. There are just too many services trying to be Family Friendly now. At this point Family friendly just means a hell of a lot of censorship to the point of absurdity, or is just for kids. To me everytime I see family friendly thrown onto any concept that would excite me, I just think "oh no, so it's going to be poisoned". There is a reason family friendly content is a meme for TH-camrs.
Hey, dignity hasn't done anything for me so far. If you're watching Cr1tiKal, you know the keys to success are shameless shilling, and a complete lack of a mortal soul. Still weighed down by the soul, to be honest.
Let me get this straight, conservatives hates snowflakes, while creating more snowflakes who live their whole lives insulated from reality while being indoctrinated in an old mummy's scriptures. It's almost like they're the same mindless followers they whine about.
Yeah there's a lot of stuff like this already, but Butch is trying to fill a hole. He noticed a distinct lack of "stuff like this that's making Butch Hartman money", and decided to rectify the situation, like a real hero.
The Exorcist story cracks me up to no end. Did Butch ask this kid why he liked it? "Do you enjoy horror movies?" "Do your parents watch lots of horror?" Or does he just hear a movie that someone likes and then extrapolate on their life stories? 😂
Yo Butch Hartman he was just 53, when he built a very strange Kickstarter It was designed to do, what netflix already does It's not gonna work, because he's Butch Hartman
An 8 year old who likes The Exorcist would come across to me as a very mature young child who could watch such a thing and appreciate it as a film as opposed to being traumatized by the images and only remember being scared. I would think that Mr. Hartman would appreciate such a developed young mind.
Doubt it would mean maturity. Anyone who's been 14 before knows that even if you like adult shit, i doesn't mean you are an adult. I think the kid just likes spooky stuff.
Also the child could be bullshitting. Weirdly never seen that mentioned. The kid could’ve just been trying to seem cool by pretending to like adult shit.
I thought something similar. More though that that film is laughable now with effects and such but it's a good film. So the kid might of just appreciated it or thought it was funny. As a side note, as a kid I was scared of jaws.
I love how one parent puts a movie for the family, but realizes that the movie was pretty much rated R and thinks that it was the media. Oh my, I wonder who's fault was it.
Well, I'm here nearly a month later to say......he made it. He somehow actually made his goal. Worse yet, it appears to be a scam for a Christian based streaming service, and there's a lot of evidence out there on this. I'm stunned to say the least......
So, he makes an ad that will appeal to Christians and it turns out to be a Christian streaming service. How the hell are you surprised and how the hell does this make it a scam?
CelticVictory It’s because he never said that it’d be a Christian streaming service. He marketed it as a family friendly streaming service, which doesn’t mean it’ll be a Christian streaming service. He left out the detail that it would be a Christian streaming service.
Saw black sheep at maybe 6 with my (crappy) father, and even at 19 I cant watch it. Like I know it's a comedy horror, but I still can't go near it. That shit disturbed me man
Fist of the World King why raise your children, when you can have a screen do it? Its like the victorian era all over again, but with electronic nannies.
I understand Butch wants to make something to appeal to the whole family, but the whole pitch comes out as one of those fundamentalist puritanical Christian propaganda videos that claim that *insert popular thing here* is allegedly "Satanic" or something like that. That's what this whole thing comes off as, just based on the video pitch alone. Also doesn't help there's 50 other streaming services, so no need for yet another one.
Back in my day, we just got kids a VHS of their favorite stuff we browsed together. Well, I'm talking about the era when I was the kid, but the point is that it takes like 2 hours of parenting to isolate a series the kid likes, then you get a Blu-ray boxset or playlist of that show. Repeat once a week, at the most.
Butch Hartman is an openly devout Christian. I think a lot of cartoons/kids shows lately have been getting into topics and ideals that don't align with traditional Christian values (i.e. same-gender couples and things like that), so I have to imagine that Butch's "family-friendly" vision will screen for and censor that kind of content. But maybe not, who knows. It's not like this will actually come to pass so we may never know u///u
OK, here's the thing where I believe it crosses the line. He can be a openly religious guy in this type of industry without trying to hinder quality for the sake of family-friendly content, opposing the more recent changes to how shows bring in more radically expansive ideas on that type of subject. The thing is, the moment he pushes in some sort of biased agenda that a lot of those other shows unfortunately strive for (like Steven Universe's horrible excuse of glorifying a one-side viewpoint on how sex is depicted in the most inappropriate way possible), that's where all odds are off. I don't mean subtle references to the religion, I'm talking flat out Davey and Goliath-levels of pushing bullshit that makes the show unwatchable. That's how you kill your career.
I'm going to age myself here but as a 5-6 year old, my favorite movie was "Stephen King's It". Had it on VHS, Mom liked to record off the television. 😆 One time, a school friend came over to watch it but my parents had accidentally recorded over "It" with a random pornographic film. Somewhere in our home, my mom heard the shitty, deep bassy music and sexy moans. She ran into the living room and practically ripped the 30 lb VCR out of the wall. Great childhood memory. 10/10

All jokes aside, it’s really nice to see an adult (Charlie) who understands kids/teenagers, I seriously hate it how much parents blame stuff on the internet rather than doing the parenting themselves
I mean it can, I've seen it personally. It's just a majority of the audience is adults and youtube as an entity has too much riding on adult centered entertainment (Not referring to porn, just to clarify.) so banning kids stuff just doesn't work, also kids naturally gravitate towards foreign material because its unique and different, so for instance Anime. Video Games (For the short while they were fresh. And also new types of games etc.). So just because youtube (the fuck up of a company it is.) can't manage it's stuff because it A: Makes them money. And B: Costs them money to manage. Doesn't mean you can't have something like that. Plus (I hated that Charlie made this point.) It's not always! The parents fault, for instance child locks on phones are not infallible. You have to pay to block porn sites (not even joking.). And also the ratings on movies are very lenient, for instance a PG-13 movie has the F word in it (It's allowed once I think.) as well as sex references etc. And there are lots of movies that seem "kid friendly" that are rated for adults etc, such as Deadpool, lots of parents took their kids to see that and they were thoroughly surprised at it. And it takes a lot of work to look out for that stuff even if you aren't closely monitoring everything they watch (even then stuff slips through the cracks.), plus essentially what Charlie is asking for parents to do is to take the child's agency as a child away by having to closely monitor everything they consume. If you could think about it from a parents perspective having an app or something that doesn't allow adult media and doesn't allow for such things helps, and then all you have to do is block their access to apps and monitor their google stuff or block certain sites from popping up and put the settings under password protection (which is still a lot of work, and requires a lot of set up which is why it's still very fallible by the parents, even by a normal tech-savvy person.). I also dislike his whole "children are people too!" argument, like Butch never explicitly said "All kids are exactly the same." or "Kids all share the same opinion." Some kids are fascinated by gore, and guts and unique things that seem bad. They get a thrill out of it, now the thing is, it still frightens them. So the Exorcist probably shouldn't have been seen as good by the kid because he wouldn't have got why it was so influential or interesting, the little girl literally calls them cocksuckers and other stuff etc. So to him the movie should've been "Ehh this is kind of scary, and boring." And unless the kid was lying and trying to appeal to adults to get their attention (Which is a big problem, mainly because parents rarely if ever give attention to their children, so they then seek the attention of others and then need a way to appeal to them hence.) he probably would have had to have seen or known about adult stuff to get it. Ya know a kid knowing the word Fuck, doesn't mean he understands the severity of it, it's the contexts he learns it in that tells you of what he was learning. So how could he have liked it if he didn't understand it? Do you like Japanese films without subtitles?
TheDragon_Fister Well Joker gave Batman a creampie leaving Batman wiping cream off his face in the episode where he attacked them with his giant nutcracker.

why else do you think none of his other pitches have worked out, why networks havent picked him up he doesnt understand the industry or the audience anymore. He isnt adapting
I especially loved the part where you said you still respect Butch Hartman. He's still an amazing artist and animator who's influenced all of our lives. But yeah, this idea is very far-fetched. Especially since his core fan base is mostly people in their early 20s who don't have a family to worry about or money to give to him. I bet most parents don't even know who he is.
TonesBalones Oaxis isn't meant to appeal to his core fan base though. It's an entertainment platform meant to interest people who care for family-friendly content.
"we are entertainers, not babysitters" "we create content, not pander them" "we are not obligated to pander to your children" like seriously, some people go apeshit because their kids send their parents to retirement homes. if parents couldn't atleast spend a few minutes with the kids, why should we be obligated? you treat your kids the way you want to be treated when you're senile *end of discussion*
I agree with both. I think there’s a lot Of negativity in media today but I think parents should turn to educating their children as opposed to sheltering them.
"mommy why did that man shoot that other man in the face? mommy why did that lady stick he face in that other ladies butt" "why are you letting your children watch such programming" you might respond, to which id say "hey wouldn't it be convenient if you had some form of subscription service you'd know for a fact wouldn't contain illicit content inappropriate for children" maybe people don't want to destroy their children's innocence right away
Christy McMahon "Today"? Are you fucking serious? Medias in the olden days have cartoons like Tom and Jerry, where Tom literally gets tortured by Jerry almost every single episode. Courage the Cowardly Dog? Terminator? Games like Mortal Kombat?
eric hooper how about instead of getting a subscription, you actually make an effort to find things for your kids to watch yourself? Nit like DVDs don't fucking exist.
Use the parenting filter that most services have, set it up in a way that a literal 8 year old can't find a way around. If you are gonna care about your child and let him have access to technology you have to be somewhat tech savvy yourself.
"kid loved The Exorcist" what did they like, the cinematography, the script, character progression, pacing of the story, the outdated "scary movie tropes" gimme a break
The thing that pisses me off is how he later admitted that the 250k was never to make Oaxis but to show investors that there was interest. That's not what the kickstarter said. Well, since investors weren't interested, will all those people get their money back?
Wait a sec, didn't Butch Hartman also recently do the old man lecture on Twitter about "you should draw other styles that aren't 'anime' " or something? Man, he's just digging his own grave faster than expected lmao
Finally a platform where I can leave my kids in control while I do my proper job of smoking weed and drinking all day long. Butch I expect you to be able to teach my kids to be able to have them pay for my lifestyle once they are old enough.
I feel like Butch is gonna be in for a rude awakening trying to sell this to any kid over maybe 8. There is always a market for absurd cartoons like ren and stimpy but ren and stimpy worked because it was somewhat adult. Just making a gross incomprehensible show for the sake of making something "appealing to kids" doesn't work on the older ones. Basically, he's probably gonna make a bunch of really, really safe trite thats not gonna interest most kids. Popular cartoons now tend to be much darker, at least more mature, than Butch's nick era of episodic content. Plus I feel like the controversial aspects of most cartoons now are NOT gonna fly on his network. So no Steven Universe esque pushing the envelope for canon gay relationships, no over the garden wall level "holy shit this is for kids" factor, no gravity falls dark overlying story, no adventure time philosophical mindfuckery. Basically, all the cool shit to an extent.
Madzlick Chinatown "family morals"...do you mean like homopbobia? Or not letting your kids watch adult content cause then you've got content warnings and parenting
Everyone has their own preference on where they draw the line, and god forbid parents have to put actual effort into raising a human being. How about actually trying to gently transition your kid into the real world, how about actually being there for your kid when theu discover his/her limits and supervising what the kid does all the while giving enough personal space to let them develop on their own and become their own person. Lazy parents are very high on my list of people that piss me off, and so many types of services actually trying to hand hold those lazy parents instead of letting them realise what shitty job they are doing, ugh. Sorry, this topic kind of hits me right in my sensitive spots, good video Charlie.
It seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV, but where are those good old-fashioned values in which we used to rely? Lucky there's Butch Hartman, the out of touch dad joke of the Internet.
From a respected cartoon artist that made amazing programs such as Danny Phantom, Tuff Puppy and Fairly Odd Parents to a kickstarter. Damn never expected him to go this low
0:41 man, relatable. I hate it when I’m watching Spongebob with my family and the characters start doing it in a dark alleyway. So glad to have this to solve my problems.
I find that people these days try to avoid blaming anything on actual people as much as they can. The cause of shootings is the gun, the cause of obesity is the food, or as you see here, the cause of kids seeing innapropriate content on tv is the media. Nobody blames the shooter, the fat person, or the parents. So of course, you end up seeing stuff like this that tries to fix a problem by treating a single symptom, instead of doing anything about the root cause.
Probably because most of these problems are more three dimensional than that and people are realizing this. Shootings can be factored by mental health, gun control including unregulated online sells, family environment, traumas, schools, social networks who harbor such ideology. Obesity by poverty, environment, capitalism (cheap corn syrup byproducts, cheap sugars/carbs, vs more expensive proteins, fibers, GMO-free labeled shit) upbringing, mental illness, medical illness, familial history. Blaming the person implies that this person is inherently flawed and that the person and by proxy the rest of us is free from influences. Trying to understand why and how these things happen is more important. Also any kind of nutritional therapist or dietician can tell you that obesity epidemic has many many layers and therapy can help with accepting responsibility, addressing factors and personal behavior, learning coping mechanisms, self control, etc to combat weight related issues. You don’t put blame on the person you give a helping hand to learn how to cope with the issue at hand
@@Bettersucksaul right? they must really just wanna beat a kid until it stops crying with that kind of "attack the person for their behavior and not acknowledge why it happened" outlook lol
I actually don't think Butch went "low" like some of the comments here. I think he genuinely thinks this is a good idea. I just think he's idea of his media platform is nothing original and most likely not worth it. Same. I love the guy but damn it's such a bad idea.
Isn't desensitisation the other way around? I watched John Wick a few weeks ago and didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I would have if I watched it years ago. The reason: I watched The Raid. The fights and action in that movie (and its sequel) were so good that it made John Wick's weaker in comparison. So wouldn't the child enjoy The Exorcist *less* if they were desensitised to horror considering horror is the main appeal?
Well does violence have to be horribly gruesome to be written well into a story? I think you can be desensitized to horror if a persons idea of that is just a bunch of gross blood and stuff. But a horror story can be written well without using all of that stuff to carry it. I think it is really bad how many writers just write stuff for shock and don't focus on the story or the characters at all. But I guess some people are into that. But I think the main point Butch was getting at is that it is concerning that children are already desensitized to so much violence. And I do think there is something to say about the way violence is so normalized in our culture. But I don't think this entertainment thing is a good idea at all...mostly because it is already a thing
TyphoonZebra Wow, I just watched the Raid a couple weeks ago and I noticed how much of the violent actions scenes inspired the John Wick movies. I still love both of these movies by the way
I absolutely love how all Butch Hartman videos from ~2 years ago start with something like "I really respect this guy and I love his stuff and he's a great artist but there a few things he did that didn't go perfectly" And the newer videos all go "let's all laugh at this talentless fucking hack for half an hour"
Which brings up a major problem of the "family friendly" angle. Total Drama in Canada is considered a kids show. Yet it has swearing (albeit censored) and the occasional uncovered boobs (also censored behind a black bar). But in the U.S. it got kicked up to the tv equivalent of PG-13. So even between neighboring countries and cultures. What's "ok for kids" is all over the place.
Moonlight150 in Japan, all Shounen Jump IPs are for kids like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Original YuGiOh, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, Saint Seyia/Knights of the Zodiacs YYH, etc
Dishonored Gaming my dad told me that when he was 6 or 7 described to his Kindergarten class mates The Excorcist during Show and Tell. He then told me that it was the last Show and Tell his class ever had.
It’s kinda hypocritical for him to criticize parents who let their kids watch “inappropriate” things even tho he was born in a time where stuff like Robocop, Terminator, Aliens, etc were watched by many children. And look at him now, he’s one of the most iconic cartoon creators that Nickelodeon ever had. Kids ,in some point of their lives before adolescence, need to experience this type of entertainment, whatever it be a violent slap stick cartoon like Ed Edd and Eddy or something gruesome like Robocop. Otherwise they’re gonna be a brainless sensitive adult who gets offended over little things.I mean, they’re gonna eventually find out about these things might as well show little glimpse of it before they’re surrounded by it.
That's only hypocritical if you're working under the assumption that he was a kid that watched all the movies you mentioned. Unless you have proof that he watched those movies as a kid and ended up just fine with no issues and nothing needed to be worked out later in life (keep in mind that business success doesn't definitively tell you about his personal life), then you're just fabricating a non-existent argument. To clarify, I don't agree with Butch's idea, but a dumb counter argument is a dumb counter argument regardless of whether it's on "my side" or not.
Am I the only one that read this but at a certain point starting thinking “Robocop, Terminator, Captain Kirk, Darth Vader, Lo-pan, Superman, every single Power Ranger...”

I think a lot of cartoons/kids shows lately have been getting into topics and ideals that don't align with traditional Christian values (i.e. same-gender couples and things like that), so I have to imagine that Butch's "family-friendly" vision will screen for and censor that kind of content. Well if he does, then he'll lose respect from his fandom.
Black Diamond, Nice misuse of weeb! ^~^
Black Diamond, you sound mad!
I'm going to age myself here but as a 5-6 year old, my favorite movie was "Stephen King's It". Had it on VHS, Mom liked to record off the television. 😆

All jokes aside, it’s really nice to see an adult (Charlie) who understands kids/teenagers, I seriously hate it how much parents blame stuff on the internet rather than doing the parenting themselves
Cr1tical how dare you you don’t think Butch can create a family friendly filter for uploads. Just look at youtube... it can be done... perfectly...

All content on Oaxis will be developed solely by Butch Hartman. No other animators, writers, directors, or actors.
Wow what a jerk.
Finally a platform where I can leave my kids in control while I do my proper job of smoking weed and drinking all day long.
Butch I expect you to be able to teach my kids to be able to have them pay for my lifestyle once they are old enough.
I love you dad
TH-cam actually did it’s job of given me that notification.
Benjamin Crutchfield I know, same for me! It's a miracle!
Benjamin Crutchfield thats a pretty quenchy pfp
First Last yup nothings quenchier
Basically, all the cool shit to an extent.
i think he doesnt understand the new school of cartoons and why they are so popular...
Lol I was gonna bring up Adventure Time. That was a staple in my childhood and young teen years. Also, shit like Regular Show.
Ren and Stimpy was part of the gross out genre back then
Butch Hartman is the physical embodiment of an out of touch old person trying to keep dated values alive.
It's pretty sad when family morals has become the laughing stock in the industry.
Pure Failure Who hurt you bud?
Richter Matthias "physical embodiment" is an overexaggeration
Madzlick Chinatown "family morals"...do you mean like homopbobia? Or not letting your kids watch adult content cause then you've got content warnings and parenting
Julio Jacob You need Jesus and some milk.
How did butch fall so low
No this is Patrick he kinda didn't he still is a good person
He ended up making 3 flops in a row and Nick gave up on him. Now all he's got is memes and unusable ideas.
No this is Patrick Who wont go low backing out of a network who gave him tons of money and also tons of stress and his works cant be reclaimed.
Christian "values"
"3 Flops In A Row"
DP and TP didn't exactly _flop,_ but I understand the fact that BiaB flopped.
"You can criticize a person you like and still like that person"
- Jesus Christ
It seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV, but where are those good old-fashioned values in which we used to rely? Lucky there's Butch Hartman, the out of touch dad joke of the Internet.
Speaking of which... th-cam.com/video/3AqlCDTBml8/w-d-xo.html
Jommy Salami amazing profile pic
From a respected cartoon artist that made amazing programs such as Danny Phantom, Tuff Puppy and Fairly Odd Parents to a kickstarter. Damn never expected him to go this low
0:41 man, relatable. I hate it when I’m watching Spongebob with my family and the characters start doing it in a dark alleyway. So glad to have this to solve my problems.
Lol
I find that people these days try to avoid blaming anything on actual people as much as they can. The cause of shootings is the gun, the cause of obesity is the food, or as you see here, the cause of kids seeing innapropriate content on tv is the media. Nobody blames the shooter, the fat person, or the parents. So of course, you end up seeing stuff like this that tries to fix a problem by treating a single symptom, instead of doing anything about the root cause.
_claps_
It's more comfortable for the ego to never be wrong, and more comfortable in general to not have to improve in any way.
Thank god, someone said it.
Yeah, the idea would end up dropping like a dead fly.
Rainbow Doodler209 nah, a dead fly would live longer than Oaxis
Or it was just a lame anectdote to support his idea.
TyphoonZebra Wow, I just watched the Raid a couple weeks ago and I noticed how much of the violent actions scenes inspired the John Wick movies. I still love both of these movies by the way
Honestly didn't read your comment, just wanted to concur that the Raid is hella dope.
TyphoonZebra nah, they'd still enjoy horror, but would probably have a taste for more fucked up horror
I absolutely love how all Butch Hartman videos from ~2 years ago start with something like "I really respect this guy and I love his stuff and he's a great artist but there a few things he did that didn't go perfectly"
And the newer videos all go "let's all laugh at this talentless fucking hack for half an hour"
Since when were reality shows kid friendly?
The Total Drama series that was on CN?
I mean that was still a cartoon, a parody of reality shows. And it did still have a few moments I wouldn't call safe for kids, heh.
Eh, a few of them. Home Renovation shows and American Idol being examples
These kickstarter project reviews are more valuable than the shit they are trying to promote lol
Oaxis look like actual garbage. I'm so glad you covered this Charlie.
"They get outraged when they find out thier kid saw a nipple" - Charlie "Penguinz0" (2018) Greatest quote ever
My mom saw the Excorsist in theaters when she was 7 and still won't let anyone in the family watch it over 40 years later
Dishonored Gaming my dad told me that when he was 6 or 7 described to his Kindergarten class mates The Excorcist during Show and Tell. He then told me that it was the last Show and Tell his class ever had.
The personal uploads part is the worst part.. That's just not gonna work out well
It’s kinda hypocritical for him to criticize parents who let their kids watch “inappropriate” things even tho he was born in a time where stuff like Robocop, Terminator, Aliens, etc were watched by many children.
Varinder Bhandal I
Am I the only one that read this but at a certain point starting thinking “Robocop, Terminator, Captain Kirk, Darth Vader, Lo-pan, Superman, every single Power Ranger...”
Varinder Bhandali do agree that kids need to bully or rough play with eachother. It will only make them stronger in the future
Varinder Bhandal
Terrible argument. Wut
