I was so glad to hear Rui Xian said it's OK for women of any ethnicity to wear a cheongsam as long as they appreciate the dress and wear it appropriately. A young fashion designer made her first collection of dresses with my prints, including a couple cheongsam. She went on to make swim wear and I couldn't resist continuing to make cheongsam with my prints. I love the dresses made by Rui Xian and love watching this video!

It was refreshing to see the various traditional look. However, it was weird to see chow having the more modern look as compared to sangee's outfit. Sangee literally has like 3/5 dresses, while Chow had 1 and she was complaining the entire time abt it.
I really love sangee's first-day cheongsam and chow's 4th-day cheongsam. They both seem cozy. Btw I also like cheongsam esp for its collar. it makes my body look well-built

Some people say that it’s disrespectful blah blah blah. But I find it beautiful. As long as one does not do anything disrespectful against other people’s culture. It’s fine. It’s beautiful to appreciate other people’s culture and let the tradition continue and let more people know more about the culture.
In normal circumstance, wearing outfit of another culture is fine. But, most of cases there’s the grey area that annoys some people, like dress inappropriately, misbehaving in said costume. such as an American dress in an Native Indian costume to a late night party.
because these people are such sensitive butt hurt people who take offence at everything. honestly we can wear each other's cultural clothes so long as we do it with respect and not to mock their race/culture.

But one thing is when Chinese travel to Japan , S.Korea or Thailand they love to wear Hanbok, Kimono , Chut Thai or Aodai for photo, and come to Japanese, Korean, China Chinese are very proud to wear their traditional outfit ( Hanfu 漢服、Hanbok, Kimono ) in every festive or just normal day same like Cosplay. And Indian and Malay also proud to wear daily , some more Thai Chinese love wearing Chinese outfit during CNY. If China Chinese is because of cheongsam is transformed from Manchurian outfit I still can understand, but came to overseas born Chinese not really know about this history but still will dislike to wear it. But everyone got their own thoughts just respect.
It'd be weird to see local Chinese wearing Hanfu on the street in Singapore and Malaysia, it looks like some kind of cosplay. Cheongsam and its male version looks better.
I love this series and def wanna visit that store if I ever go to Singapore! I want to do the same for the Japanese kimono and Okinawan traditional wear.
My mother is legit in the Cheongsam Association of Singapore. She put on heavy makeup and take photoshoot on yacht, I cringe. I think cheong sam is too tight to be comfortable.
