I am in such a quest today that before viewing this fantastic presentation from one of my favorite screamo bands, I saw Tristeza playing A Colores in Philadelphia and before that Disrupt in one of the only appearances I saw here in YT. Amazing, thanks for sharing. It is sad for those in South America who couldn't see many of these great bands that only lasted for a few years and played in small and cool places like this one (a few applauses after each song). A cultural scene, alive. Now, it is everything so cold, so digital, so without thru connections.
I recently went on twitter and asked Jayson Green if he would REALLY scream from the throat or if he knew about fry screaming/any techniques to ensure he wouldn't harm his voice. As I suspected (with a lot of these 90s screamo/emoviolence bands), he never heard of the techniques and he was just full on screaming, but he never hurt his voice and he's been fine lol Probably helps that a lot of their sets were only 20 minutes at most rather than 30+ minutes
i did vocals in a band before, had no technique just screamed at top volume. as long as youre not doing it for extended periods of time, for years, i think youll be okay. drinking some warm water was a big help beforehand.
@@Noway-sg8md Yeah. As long as you aren’t doing like 2 hour sets every day for 3 months straight you’ll probably be fine. Dont do these vocals while sick with a bad cold or the flu tho.. Learned that the hard way. Lost my voice so bad i couldnt even talk above a lowish gritty voice for like a week and 4 days.

orchid is such an anomaly to me. i’ve never seen a band so relentless and intense. this would be even too brutal for some of the metalcore kids i know. good shit
Jerome’s Dream listening experience is the closest thing to Orchid, but the bands are still super different. People will say Pg.99 sound like Orchid, Orchid swears they were just ripping off Union of Uranus, and obviously the projects the members went on to form have those members sonic footprints on them just as much as Orchid. But I think you’re right. I’ve just never heard a fucking band like this. Never fallen for a band like this. I mean this sound is just so fucking cool, so many amazing bands in the scene. They aren’t super similar, but as someone who also loves Orchid some other screamo favorites are Saetia, I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism in Your Yearbook, and obviously JD., but also a million more

"everybody come inside." LOL somethings about house shows never change.
i've said that into the mic 1000 times
LMAO, something that must be spoken at every house show
I missed orchid cause I was outside flipping a quarter. ... that would suck. Singer gives Eli from there will be blood vibes here
literally have a video on my IG of my friend saying it just like this lol
Michael Cera killing it on vocals

I love how McLovin the singer looks and speaks, but he's absolutely ferocious when the song starts.
They were 90’s emos, they probably had a lot of bottled up emotions they felt like getting out
McLovins were a huge part of that scene. Now no one looks like that anymore
Fucking Green is a legend
Damn, nothing can beat out of Scott Pilgrim
Fun fact they had to get that super horned up dude from the inbetweeners to fill in for Green on this one

The Paul Dano comments are amusing considering Orchid has a song called I am Nietzsche and that's what he is reading in LMS
This is what he went to do after founding out he was color blind lol

How was this just uploaded yesterday!? So weird I've been on an live Orchid search the last week, wtf. synchronicity
i like how the cameraman actually recorded a little bit of Will at 2:18, most of the time they just film the vocalist, but this is pretty good.
