The way the song is edited with "I'm already gone" with the ending clips of him in the all white made me fucking cry. I never met him but I miss him. The day he died, I kept denying it. My friend told me but I didn't want to believe it. But it eventually sank in and so did sadness for a long while. I grew up with few friends, small family and no dad so pro skaters became my male role models. I know it might sound weird to some but Dylan dying was almost like a distant family member passing. Like the cousin I always imagined myself looking up to. It fucking hurt and sometimes, watching videos of Dylan, it still hurts. This guy meant so much to me and I never got to tell him. And I'll never be able to tell him. Tell people you love them today, tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Yeah man , i can relate to the skater role model thing , i took a picture frame and made a collage out of the 6 skaters that have passed away that i love as a school project , the collage has Shane Cross , Dylan Rieder , Lewis Marnell , Keenan Milton , Mike Ternansky and JR Neves , it had such a meaning i never even showed the project to the teacher or the students. I think of all of them as friends even though i never met them , but remember , everything happens for a reason... even if we cant accept that reality or clearly understand why and how they passed away , theyre skating marked the earth/people forever... may they ride on forever on heaven... ride in peace distant friends.
