Can chestnut is available in the fall. Like now..and in specialty markets. Check the international section . there maybe sections of Asian and English (the chestnut paste and honey..perhaps.) . The Honey is from the what the bees feed off of..the flower..I've seen Alfalfa honey!

I have just ordered chestnut paste acacia honey and the tin from Lakelands , I am gonna make this I get fed up with the same flavours I very rarely make them because everyone wants strawberry but I don't but this one I would love I love hot chestnuts, I have a roasting chestnut pans that have been in my family for a long time, I am the only one who has big open fire places. I love them roasted over the fires especially at Christmas time. The attention to detail is wonderful that final addition with the dobber into each hole was wonderful

What a creative idea! It looks delicious. Is the chestnut paste sweetened or unsweetened? Can I use chestnut purée instead, or does that have too much water?
i'm not too sure but my guess is that it's slightly sweetened. :) if you only have chestnut purée, i'd cook it down on low heat to evaporate some of the water and make the consistency more like what we can see in the video, and then add some sugar. there are some chestnut paste recipes on the internet that'll help you gage how much sugar you'll need.
