What a gift Helen Joyce has for articulating the case against harmful gender ideology, intelligently, succinctly, and with a level of reasoning that almost anyone can understand. She is deeply respected and has contributed enormously to the slow return to sanity we are finally experiencing.

Helen Joyce is the realest of real deals. She is not the person you want to square off against, if you happen to stand (or at least, you kind of think so by cultural default) on the "other" side of the "trans" issue. She does not eff around. Ground-level reality is her domain and puncturing abstract inherently-contradictory ideology with insuperable logic and plain language is her game.
Joyce truly is one of the most articulate people I have ever heard speak - and she a mathematician! As we say in Cork, ‘’Tis mad like”.😅

A child doesn't know what its like to "feel like a man" or '"feel like a woman ' so stop asking them .
No one does. It’s impossible. We don’t even know and can’t know if there even is something that it feels like to be a man or woman. And it seems there isn’t, with trans people ironically being the best argument there isn’t - it seems men and women are able to feel all kinds of ways which is why people differ so much.
And unless someone were able to step inside the experience of someone else, which is impossible, they can never know if what they feel is similar to other men or women. All anyone can know is what it feels like to be them alone.

What about circumcision?
Circumcision seems recognised as mutilation now unless there are sound medical reasons. However it's very different to transitional surgery which removes the genitals, of both sexes, and tries to replace them with a non-working equivalent. Vaginoplasty can be an open wound that needs dilating or it will heal. A penis graft will not work naturally. Both transitions will need lifelong hormones and we don't know the long term effects on bone and muscle will be. Children shouldn't be used for experiments.

As a (normal acting) gay man I totally agree with everything Helen says here, and the thing about trans ideology essentially being modern conversion therapy is really disturbingly accurate. It's quite saddening honestly.

Same! I'm gay too. I was so incredibly feminine as a child. I thought I should be a girl. Wore girls' clothing. Played with doll. Mostly played with girls up to an age. I fear i would be transgender today if I had been born these days.
Gays fought to just be treated like everyone else, to be able to live the same dull, everyday lives together. The fight was won but yet, these activists can't stop. They have pushed and pushed so much, they can't see how batsh*t crazy they really are.
It is women like Dr Helen Joyce who have empowered me to write my government almost daily. The pernicious obfuscation of language within policy has decimated women's sex-based provisions in America. It is also an insanely difficult time to be an out bisexual when the sex binary is now considered homophobic. Sex matters in life and law.
I always enjoy watching interviews with this lady. She's so eloquent yet non-aggressive. Very common sense and very decent.
I would always seek out an interview with Helen - she’s calm, erudite, witty and incisive. Her ability to describe this phenomenon in real terms and to the average person is so valuable.

My personal experience aligns with Helen Joyce’s. I once thought it was a matter of politeness to refer to a friend’s daughter as a he/him and use her new male name, roll forward 4 years and she is now so disassociated from her body that she can no longer walk. I’m left with an uncomfortable feeling of guilt; that had I said something from the outset this would never have not happened. My point is that by not objecting or at least gently debating the point we as a society are complicit in the harm.

It really irritates me as well. Because telling people that sex is real and that they should learn to accept the material realities of their own bodies is 'conversation therapy'.... yet telling them a pack of a lies that they can change sex, that definitely isn't completely dishonest and manipulative.

I know of whole classrooms becoming gay or trans and the teacher bragging. Got them fired as well. This is a nightmare it really is. When a kiddo or a teen says they don't like their bodies it's automatically.. 'you might eb in the wrong body' and the real mental health issues aren't being handled at all unless the child decides other then that it's affirmed and you are immediately sent to the gender clinic to honorees/blockers right away. I've seen it here in seattle . There's also human cats and dogs going to the vet.. with the parents

To not identify as a "support human" was so spot on! I remember my mother being upset when we traveled in Asia and in Thailand there was this saying that "women are the back bones of the elephant", and her saying she didn't want to be only the back pair of legs - as if those would be any less important than the front pair - and she also had these ideas throughout her life that she "should" have been born a man, because they did brave things like climb Mount Everest (as if no woman ever had).

She is such a good communicator. Her example of her Orthodox Jew business partner was slightly flawed, however. I knew a trans man who visited a mosque and went in the male only section, he also visited Mecca post transition (he wasn't out in those spaces) although he did find a lgbt Muslim group where he could be out. There is a Muslim lgbt group in London but no inclusive mosques I think. There are lgbt inclusive mosques in Canada
