V8 is the sound that I hear whenever I think of F1. Such an iconic sound!
they all sound like that basically this is a terrible comparison, v12 and v10 were good but v8 was just them passing without switching gears and accelerating much and v6 was them decellerating

he showed them decelerating which means it was at their quietest. if they were accelerating it would of been louder

The V6 clip showed them decelerating in a braking zone, basically showing them at their quietest.
Same with the V10 clip lol. And the V12 clip started right when the car accelerates. V6s just really are quiet and boring

@@nik80la all the V12, V10 and V8’s sound better than the new V6 hybrids. What’s annoying is that they COULD sound way better. Have you ever heard the Yamaha R1 motorcycle with an exhaust? That’s a 4 cylinder that sounds like a high revving V8! All due to the fact that Yamaha tuned the exhaust to make the engine sound awesome.
So it can be done… It just needs to be done.

I think V12 proves who makes the best motor from each manufacturer. The 10’s were amazing it they all sounded very similar. 12 has all the characteristics of each motor but stretches them all into an orchestra and at its peak is unbeatable

@@Ayixlia The original Star Wars film came out in 1977, so if we assume F1 circa 1976-ish for car sounds, the grid was dominated by V8s and Ferrari was running _flat_ 12s. Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt, however, said TIE Fighters are mostly from elephants (specifically from a film called Roots of Heaven), with the sound of regular cars driving past in the rain.
I guess this means V12s sound like elephants, but I can't help but wonder why nobody with these sound clips for F1 ever include the V6 engines that dominated during the OG turbo era in the 80s.
